There have been many posts in other threads about getting a group of teachers together here on EVOKE. I'd like to pull us together. Here's my suggestion:
1. In this thread, post who you are and what you teach -- or, if you're a teacher-type but not actually a teacher, like me, tell us what you do. Tell us also where you're from!
2. Check out the google doc that happyseaurcin started -- it has ideas about how to engage teachers in EVOKE.
3. Take a look at the wiki (http://urgentevoke.wikia.com/) and visit the Calling All Teachers page. Add your name (and a link back to your EVOKE profile, if you like) if you'd like to collaborate. If you have an idea for a project, add it to the brainstorming section.
Let's see if we can get traction over the next couple of weeks and maybe pick an idea or two to develop more fully!

My EVOKE name is Ninmah, my RL name is Rachel Smith. I'm a former teacher who now researches emerging technologies for teaching and learning. I have a deep love of games and hope to work on projects that bring more games into classrooms. I'm from California in the US.

Fantastic initiative. For those teachers or professors who have a number of students as EVOKE agents, please also share how you are interacting with them, are you using the mentor tool, what practical steps would you give to other teachers as to how to best support your students in this game, etc.

Oh, great addition, Robert. Let's get the students involved too -- teachers who are using it in class, please let us know what your students think of EVOKE, or better yet, have them tell us themselves.

Greetings,
I am a teacher but not currently working as one. I have a B.A. in Child Development but am using my degree to be a better parent. I have two children, one with Autism. I am also in Southern CA. As for an idea, check out this link and the ideas presented. I am sure we can really get this ball moving here in the states just as this innovator has done in India.

I'm both a student and a Peer Coach in Facility Management at Rotterdam University (Netherlands). I'm working on my thesis, but I also tutor/mentor (especially in financial/research parts of the study) many other students. Teaching is a lot of fun and I'm always looking for ways to spread knowledge.

I'm a physics teacher for a military college preparatory school in Rhode Island (US). I'd have to give some thought about how to use EVOKE in the classroom, but I'm certainly open to the idea!

We're going to brainstorm for a bit and then see if we can choose an idea or two to develop into a plan. Glad to meet you both!

My EVOKE name is Emily and I work for an educational charity that runs an online learning community, called Rafi.ki (the Swahili word for friend) for schools around the world that helps students share ideas and work together for a brighter future. It is free for all non-UK schools to join - it contains communication tools and cross-curricular projects around global issues, and is safe and moderated.
We are currently running a project called "BLOOD DIAMONDS" where students learn how their choices as consumers can affect people's lives, especially in areas that are struggling with so-called "conflict resources" such as Gold, Diamonds, or Coltan (which is highly relevant for the conflict in the DRG right now). If anybody would like more information, or knows any schools in the DRC (or elsewhere) who might like to join this project, please get in contact!

I love it! I'm giving you +100 Spark PowerPoints for driving this teachers group forwards Ninmah. I'm really excited about the potential of this. I'd love to see school kids all over the world collaborating on problems together. How can this group facilitate this?
