Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

EVOKE others!

Dear fellow Evokees,
I hereby challenge you to evoke others.
Right now, we have about 11,5K agents out there, thats around 2000 more than we did yesterday. That is good, or awesome, to say the least, but I daresay:

We could do so much better.

At this rate, we will have about 50 000 active agents on May 12. I think you will agree with me when I say that in order to maximize our potential, we need more agents. Therefore I aim higher - and with hundreds of million of people on the net, the sky is the limit. The more agents we evoke (especially but not exclusively from Africa, Asia and South America), the more diversified and creative the projects will become. The issue I see is that not a lot of people have actually heard of EVOKE - and we need to change that.

Are you up for the challenge?

If so, please read and adhere to the rules below.

  1. By evoking others, I do not mean spamming forums asking for people to join. Please think carefully about who to ask to make sure they might actually be interested - each agent getting 2 or so people to join and stick is going to be better and more effective in the long run, and the last thing we want to evoke is a reputation as spammers.
  2. Stress the postive! Put emphasis on Evoke's strengths in your invitation.
  3. Ask those that join to also find at least one other possibly interested person - and do not be shy to ask important or well-known thinkers, creators and innovators for help and or mentoring.
  4. Spread the word any other way - how about writing to a newspaper or big news site, chances are, they would feature the community if they just had heard of it.
  5. Keep us posted on your progress by commenting/using the Invite function on the right (Alchemy surely can track that) or make a blog post yourself, tag it CHEVK1 and share feedback.
  6. What are you waiting for? Remember, time is of the essence. We only have until May - so the earlier we start with this... Read the end of the post, and then get right on it!

There will be some form of award, I am not sure how though (because
enlargening the network should be enough
reward) - however, I have asked Alchemy to award +3 Collaboration for
every successful evoke, and I will award points personally (but just one
for starters) since I have not heard from Alchemy. I do not know how to
track your efforts yet, so just comment and I will trust you on that.

Okay, thats all, on the count of three...

I have been doing exactly this. Social networks and online games require a critical mass of people to be successful. I've been recruiting on Facebook via private messages, using "in-character" messaging to catch people's attention. This is the text I've been using, if anyone wants to cut and paste that is fine with me. Just remember to replace the two instances of the word "(friend)" with your friend's name, and switch my name for yours.

(Friend)!
Sorry for the secrecy protocol, can't be too careful. Let me get to the point here. We need you on EVOKE. It looks like a game, but appearances are deceptive. This is real, and we have a very real and attainable goal: social innovation. This isn't a pie in the sky idea... we're making a difference *right now*. You can also become a certified Social Innovator through the World Bank Institute. If you have a pet social innovation project you can get funding, get noticed, make a difference. If you don't have a project, you will when we're through.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
