Speed in my opinion denotes agility of our mind.
Information is usually random and chaotic. We make sense of the chaos to see not just what seems obvious but what isn't. To what extent we should respond to the the chaos (read: agility) will depend on how good we are to decode the information asymmetry. Knowledge will arise when we can make sense of this randomness and seemingly all pervasive chaos that we either ignore and continue to survive and enjoy in calm or simply comprehend how to best leverage the potential asymmetry in our advantage and profit from it. The symbolism of variability in earth's speed is apt. Whether we intend to create knowledge from the random information around us depends on our desire to stay agile, open and conscious.
Eric Hoffer's famous lines sums it up...
The critics specifically mention 3 NGOs as being CLEAN...because they refuse corporate funding:
Greenpeacve/Friends of the Earth/350.0RG

What is the position of EVOKE regarding corporate/WorldBank funding?
If that is mentioned elsewhere, sorry if I missed it.
In the latest issue of The Nation magazine, the British journalist Johann Hari writes, “As we confront the biggest ecological crisis in human history, many of the green organizations meant to be leading the fight are busy shoveling up hard cash from the world’s worst polluters—and burying science-based environmentalism in return…In the middle of a swirl of bogus climate scandals trumped up by deniers, here is the real Climategate," he says.

Well, Johann Hari joins me here now from London, England. He’s a columnist for the London Independent. His article for The Nation is called “The Wrong Kind of Green.”
We’re also joined from Washington, DC by journalist Christine MacDonald. She used to work for one of the groups discussed at length in Johann Hari’s article. She worked for Conservation International, or CI. But she’s since written a book criticizing CI, as well as other environmental groups, for taking stances she suggests have been heavily influenced by corporate donors and partners. The book is called Green, Inc.: An Environmental Insider Reveals How a Good Cause Has Gone Bad." As a baby, time seems to go on forever, the Earth is huge and exciting. Everything is new and beautiful. There is a need to explore and figure everything out. Our days are filled with laughter and our every need is taken care of for us.
As a baby, time seems to go on forever, the Earth is huge and exciting. Everything is new and beautiful. There is a need to explore and figure everything out. Our days are filled with laughter and our every need is taken care of for us.

As a child, we are told that we have to wait, we start seeing some aspects of life as repetitive. The earth is big and beautiful, but not everything is new to us so we glance over it and no longer feel as excited when experiencing these "usual" things. Our days are still filled with laughter, but in the process of learning to be our own person, we start to see disappointment, fear, sadness and other negatives.

As a teen, we begin to learn more about the world around us, time seems to move faster when we are doing something new and exciting, but seems to crawl when we are doing something mundane. The world seems a little smaller as responsibilities limit what we can do with our time. We strive to hold on to our laughter, but realize our entire day cannot be filled with the same awe and wonder that we once had. Instead of the world revolving around us, we now take the position that we revolve around the world with our responsibilities coming first and fun coming second.

As an adult, many find life to be common, doing the same thing day in and day out. We occasionally laugh, but tend to see the world as smaller, focusing on our little portion of it. We see children and long to be young and care free without the weight of responsibilities on our shoulders. We take joy in seeing our children discover the world, enjoying the awe and wonder that everything is so new to them.

As an Elder, we once again get the opportunity to have fun, but the world still seems smaller than it once did. Having lived our lives, seen the joys and inequities of life, we see the world through the filters of our experiences. We have helped our own children grow and can see the next generation once again seeing everything as new. We tell stories of our youth to the youngest one in the hope that they will gain insight from them. We spend time with our friends, maybe do some of the things we wanted to as adults but never had a chance to. Nearing the end of the life cycle, the world shrinks even more, with time moving way too fast, the days slipping by....

then, at the moment we are to pass on...time slows and we can see the entirety of our lives in the moments before our last breath, as if the earth stops moving for just a moment, just for us. And then I remember to live in the present moment, to wake up and be mindful and breathe. . . and everything slows down. Everything shifts when I shift my point of view. I definitely feel the urgency of Evoke and it's inherent deadline. But I also feel the rhythm beginning and the compassion flowing and the universe shifting. . . ever so slowly. . .towards home. As an Evoke network member I would be well connected to exceptionally motivated individuals and able to update myself with what's happening around the world much quicker and make that change happen much sooner, perhaps before a calamity such as Tokya Food Crisis strikes. In case it does strike, as sometimes it is hard to predict, I would be able to garner necessary resources at lightning speed and spring into action with the help of other Evoke members directly or indirectly from around the world. The speed in this case means efficiency, entrepreneurship, leadership and vision. For those outside such networks it would be rather hard to come up with timely solutions and they sometimes blame it on destiny and walk away from the problem. My personal opinion on this is that it depends on what you do that makes who you are. The "earth" referenced here is our own little personal worlds which we are owners of and if we are able to manage our world and be effiecient on things we do that have an impact on our environment then our world will rotate faster. If we sit by the sidelines and just let everything pass us by then that "earth" in particular from that particular person will rotate slower..so it seems.

Life is subjective.
Each subject has a different perception.
After perception (which is conditioned by different variables like socioeconomic, hereditary, experience, family, values...) occurs, we can attribute purpose to our lives and filter what we do and don´t want to believe in.
When the subject believes in what he or she is living, the purpose and the person are kept alive
If we live a life we believe in, our goals (which are determined by the purpose we attribute to life) are more likely to be reached at a faster pace.
In my case I live life by being empowered to be constructive and by trying to do what is at my reach to make a positive contribution to life on earth in general and on a global scale. EVOKE is helping me live my life in a "faster" way.
I think it means that... the moving of the earth is like its improvement, its development and... the spped it moves in is not automatic or constant, it depends on individuals or group of people. One's life is one's world, the pace in which one's life improves is on one's own hands.
