i see a lot of talk of alternative energy sources. that is great, but it is not the ROOT of the problem.

if the rate of energy use continues to rise, we cannot build enough solar panels, wind turbines and wave energy converters to cover it. they would cover the planet and damage the ecosystem in their own ways. think, if solar panels take away too much heat, the earth cools; very bad. too many wind turbines; weather patterns change dramatically. massive amounts of wave motion generators would disturb the ocean ecosystem.

we consume far too much energy. we are wasteful. every single fancy product with the fancy wrapper; energy was consumed to make each and every useless part. we must find ways of REDUCING our energy use as we find more sustainable energy sources.

I think solar panels are a great power solution. Likewise windmills, but what happens when they are gone? That is the only question I have. Also, will they ever be gone?

I think the power shift was a good idea, but the comic just showed how people sometimes don't care. In order to at least even HAVE a power shift, we need a strong, thoughtful, and powerful community to support the idea and make it happen.
