Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Episode 4 CODE PHRASE: "He who does not know one thing, knows another.”

It's an old Kenyan proverb: "He who does not know one thing, knows
another.” What do you think this code phrase means to the Evoke
network?

It's a beautiful expressive proverb. I have learnt from my team leading experiences that every team member brings in something and contribute differently in a group. however, its important to give all members their own time and space to Evoke and then influence their contribution to a certain direction. So when its time to complete or deliver there would be a good order and a good product. I learnt not to be afraid to embrace different ways of tackling the project because diversity could be an additional value to the product.
In addition to what has already been said, I would like to reiterate the reference to "doing one´s passion". It was referenced in the lead, and ties into to recognizing that different people know different things. But just as important, different people are passionate about different things. Teams that align the activities of their members with each members passion will out-perform the rest. You see this on the Evoke teams - each member takes on a role that plays to their own strengths. (Do what you like. Like what you do.)

It is important for team leaders to recognize not just what the members of the team know, but what are they excited about. If leaders can tap into that excitement, the team (and it´s mission) will benefit.
nicely said Mew. It basically boils down to synergy and all working together.

Everyone has something to contribute! :D
Definetly, colloboration is the way to collection wisdom, No body have every thing of it, no body can have so it is sharing and working together. So Collective Wisdom on Evoke is the best meaning of the phrase.
Crowd sourcing is the key!

I think that this quote means that when someone is lacking in one strength, they strive in another. If we work together in a group, then there is bound to be somebody with a strength/weakness in each area. With this, everyone can rely on each other for those reasons.

"He who does not know one thing, knows another.” I think this quote means that the people in Evoke who are experts at some things, may not be in other areas. I think everyone has an area of expertise and someone who doesn't know one thing is bound to know another.

If you do not know what you are doing, go pick up something else up and see if you are good at it. If you do not find something your good at right away, try again. Most likely you will find something you are good at, even if it takes years.

This, to me, means that what you may know, I may not know, and what I know, you may not know.

I think this means if you do something to someone and they don't know one thing about you they always have a back up to get you because they no something else.

I think the Kenyan proverb means that if a person does not know a method, the person knows another one. I think it also means that everyone has a different mind-set or a way of learning something.

I think this means that even though you might not be able to do one thing, you can always do another and there isn't an excuse not to help out or put your abilities down. No one is unimportant.
