I can kind of see the crash of our dollar, like the crash (if you will call it so) of the Deutschmark (was that it?) in Germany before WWII. If tensions rise enough and their is war and we happen to lose- well, we would see the crash of the dollar. But......honestly, money.....GO AWAY? Like, for good? HOw would that happen?

aren't there options to save the world other than making money? what about charity and philanthropy? do you think money was on the minds of Gandhi or Mother Teresa?
I like this idea in some ways. To keep labour markets stable, we could tax the first world citizens enough to keep the third world afloat and the labour market working. Nice progression taxes of 50-60-70 percent ought to do it. A global economic system would mean that no local corruption influences could unduly imbalance the market - and if a country or group tried to escape the system and revert to some other currency, we'd know they were up to no good.
Lots of people seem to hate the idea of money and currency because they don't understand it. They try and come up with "alternatives" - but money has been around for centuries. You're not going to change status quo with fervent ideas and passion alone. You MUST pay attention to reality and what most people care about. Most people couldn't give a care less about alternative currencies and barter systems which is why those are pointless solutions. In this case, you must literally fight fire with fire. The fire that most people care about is the almighty dollar. How do you fight that? With the almighty dollar.
I remember watching a show about an englishman who gave up money because of that abstraction purpose. He was appalled by the fact that the Nike shoes he bought were "okay" because it was technically legal, even though the shoes were made by children in sweat shops. So he gave up money. But he still lived in a caravan and used a laptop and highspeed internet. Who does he think those were built on? The backs of cheap foreign labor!
