I think this means that the people ,also know as the crowd, know what is happening and you can always count on them to tell the truth therefore the crowd never lies.
When you hear something from a big crowd you are more than likely to think that that info is correct.
I think this means that if a lot of people think the the same thing is true then it probably is.
I think this means that when facing a big crowd, you listen anything they say/do.
That if the majority of the people think it's true; than odds are it is.
I remember Abraham Lincoln said, “You may fool all the people some of the time, you can even fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time.”
Truly the phrase is synonymous to the quote by Abraham Lincoln.
