Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Episode 9 CODE PHRASE: "Isinzi nti be sha. The crowd does not lie"

It's an old Burundian proverb: "The crowd does not lie."  What do you think this code phrase means to the EVOKE Network?

This proverb is true in the case of presidential elections that are free and fair. That is the outcome of the vote is the will of the people- therefore the crowd does not lie.
It's interesting to apply this proverb to Evoke, because there are thousands of agents but so many of them are quiet. So does "crowd" speak to the very large number of agents and the issues they seem to sincerely care about, or to a small but vocal group of less than thirty agents who are claiming to be the voice for how the game is run?

Personally I think it is the former ... if Evoke has shown anything it is that there are thousands of people out there who are willing to spend significant amounts of time thinking about the world's problems, and then educating themselves and each other about real solutions. This is the inarguable "crowd" and the rest is just a chatty if organized minority.
Dear Alchemy and my fellow EVOKERs,
Good day!
I thing the Burundian proverb: "The crowd does not lie." appliies to EVOKE in especially in pandemic reporting. However, I see a similarity in Abraham Lincoln's utterance, "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
Thanks and regards.
i agree with Margie Alsbrook.

EVOKE gives us an opportunity to actually learn more about real life problems facing the world today and guides us to places where we can find clues to solving them.

what i fear is that after season one a lot of agents will go cold. i would have preferred a situation where agents will start contacting each other even if we don't win a prize, lets team up and see what we can do to solve some of these problems we see around our societies.

The people that start and live in a situation ( being the crowd) never lie about what they do or where they originate from.

"The crowd does not lie" means that if one person says something how do you know they are telling the truth? But if a wh*** crowd says the same thing individually you can have a pretty good idea.

I think this quote is talking about a huge power in ma**** of people. Sure, one or two people can stand on their own, but power is in numbers.
I think the code phrase means that if everyone has the same idea, then you know that you should agree with them. If the majority has the same opinion with each other, then you know there right.

I think this phrase means that the people do not lie,but are simply creating the news from true or false information that they have been given. They are not lying to the public or creating a publicity stunt, they are simply reacting to the news that they are obliged to believe is true.

I think it means you should go with the popular vote. (majority rules)

I think it means that the people are the ones that should be trusted.

I think this phrase means that when a wh*** group of people say something the same way then it is likely to be true.
