Veda- a call for collaboration in creating a secure VPN for social innovation

Social innovation is about ideas that change the way we think, live and coexist with one another.  To safely propagate these ideas, a secure VPN (Virtual private network) needs to exist.   While the internet is a fantastic network, it is also riddled with bots (some benign , some positive and a lot thats just evil in nature), Net neutrality is a great cause but not a guaranteed right.

Communication is key to the work we are attempting to do here- secure and safe communication.

As such, I propose that we work together to create a VPN called Veda (Sanskrit for Knowledge)
It would be a resilient network that acts as a darknet for social innovators.

what do you think fellow EVOKER's ?

Can we do this ?

should we do this?

Looking forward to your input

Hi Kevin, what you have is probably feasible - you and your fellows on this project could start by taking a look at the work of The Pirate Bay on the iPredator VPN, as well as examine the TOR project - TOR especially has provided Internet security to users all around the world for some time now and is a pretty well-seasoned VPN system. It is quite slow however, but only because of the lack in TOR computers around the world. Maybe the VEDA initiative could help buff up these numbers ?

I'd also suggest you get in touch with the team over at TRUST, Challenge the EVOKE Network - they too are exploring ways to secure communications over the Network.
There might also be some benefit in researching the tools employed by Darknets. These networks are highly resilient and diverse. Typically these are file trading organizations that have had to maintain extreme levels of secrecy due to the illegal nature of their trade. However, learning their methods and employing their technology might be exactly along the lines of what is described here.

For an overview of possible darknet architectures see John Robb's recent post and the comments with various links.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
