Pace yourselves. Don't burn out too quickly - lots of work ahead.
One thing I found confusing, as a late comer... The front page starts on the most recent episode, which didn't make much sense to me. I jumped into starting the mission even before I realized there were multiple pages to the current episode story. It might help if on the mission brief page, it referenced the story page, and maybe summarized the story so far. It worked well enough without the story, but it was a bit confusing to figure out what people were talking about. Very well put, Jeremy, and I…tag:www.urgentevoke.com,2010-03-05:4871302:Comment:148612010-03-05T00:53:22.861Zninmahhttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/ninmah
Very well put, Jeremy, and I agree too. I'm actually glad to have a week to explore others' contributions and digest what I find. If we could access all the quests now, it would be a mad rush for everyone to finish their own story -- this way, there is time built in that encourages us to meet others.
I love the way EVOKE draws me back in even though I have answered this week's questions already. Since I want to engage, I can either add more of my own stuff to my own blog (hmm... but that's…

I love the way EVOKE draws me back in even though I have answered this week's questions already. Since I want to engage, I can either add more of my own stuff to my own blog (hmm... but that's like talking to myself), or I can look around, search on words that interest me, read other people's posts, and comment on them instead. Much better!
But it's also important that everyone have time to digest each weeks mission. For instance the first mission is about understanding the mindset of being a social innovator, but most of what I've learned hasn't been through the first three assignments. Most of it has been through reading other people's entries and interacting with other people on this site.

The time factor is important to develop a community and a network, if they gave everyone all ten assignments at once then people would run through and get bored or pick and choose. This way you spend a week thinking about each part of the journey.
Since yesterday, when this site launched. It's still very new. It's interesting - for some reason I can't stop thinking of this as 'serious business'. That is, I don't have the same mindset on this site as I do when I play 'a game'. What about you guys?
Good question!

I think that this game is a game where a lot of the 'game' is what we make of it. As such, it is not an immersive world that you can explore yourself, passive-actively, like you can enjoy a regular MMORPG.

This is a weakness and a strength.

You are completely right Mathapelo - the Evoke might not pull you in with things to do, quests etc, and when that happens, and you havent made many friends on the site to communicate with - it loses its edge and many become uninterested.…
