Your mission: Help empower one girl or woman with better access to education or economic opportunity. Make a small donation that can change another person's life forever.
There are 100 ways to support women's equal opportunities and rights via Global Giving.
Invite your friends, family, classmates, and neighbors to team up this week. Set aside time to explore the opportunities at Global Giving and pick a social innovation YOU want to help support -- and then work together to make a life-changing donation.
How much good can you do in a week?
If you can raise $30 USD, you can buy 500 bricks to build one classroom wall for a new girl's science lab in Uganda
If you can raise 72 ZAR, you can train two young girls as peer leader-educators in Bangladesh
If you can raise 22 EURO, you can buy feed and vaccine for an entire year for 1 woman’s poultry business in Ghana
OR: If you can't make a donation this week, spread the word: Use Facebook and Twitter to inspire your friends beyond the EVOKE network to support women's equal rights and opportunities. Tell them about your favorite Global Giving venture.
Comment
In order to alert people of this issue I will volunteer, make a fundraiser, speak to people and let them know what is happening.
I will make flyers and make a speech in heavily populated areas to tell people women need rights. I would say that it's not fair women dont have equal rights than men. I would try to get the word around as much as possible.
To contribute to this problem I would walk around a busy area and teach them about women that are suffering. Then I would guide them and teach them about the solution. After that I would pass out flyers to come to an event and donate money for discriminated women.
I would spend the word by saying how women are treatedin this world and how hard it is. Next, I would start a fundraiser to earn money for the needed women in the world.
For my part, I will get everyone around me to understand what is happening. I could explain the suffering women go through, and how we can help. Even getting just one more person to help will make a family's day.
I will try to start some sort of fundraiser to earn money for one objective to empower women and I will provide lots of info to people who are interested
I will spread the word to raise awareness to help people in these situations. Equal rights should be everywhere.
I will definatley try and start something at my school, with my family, and with my friends
I will type up a little note of how severely women are treated and sent it to a lot of my friends who can and will help.
ACT 6
I went online and researched what women go thorugh, as to make myself more aware. I then wrote a short paragraph and emailed it to my friends, asking them to forward to anyone they can.
Even just by being more aware, it can help someone
ACT 6
For this week mission I informed myself a lot about violence against women and children. So I decided to support an association which helps women who are not able to extricate themselves from their awkward disposition. And this association gives starting aid for a life after violence and savageness.
But for me it was important to support an association which is around me so I can be sure that my donation comes in. Some days ago I phoned with my parents and I told them about my thoughts about empowering abused women. They were very interested and so we decided to donate together for 'Frauen helfen Frauen' in Rostock, close to my hometown Güstrow.
Since 1990 this association is working for women in Mecklenburg Western Pomerania who had experienced (sexualised) violence.
There a several possibilities to assist the work. You can collaborate on al voluntary basis, become a member, a so called 'Vereinsfrau' or of course you can give a donation like my parents and I did.
I went to Global Giving and searched around for a bit and then decided to donate $25 US to what I think
is a very worthy cause. With my $25 one girl from Kenya will be able to attend school for one wh*** year.
