Empowering Women - ACT

EVIDENCE TAG:
ACT6
STATUS:

Help empower one girl or woman with better access to education or economic opportunity.

Your mission: Help empower one girl or woman with better access to education or economic opportunity. Make a small donation that can change another person's life forever.

There are 100 ways to support women's equal opportunities and rights via Global Giving.

Invite your friends, family, classmates, and neighbors to team up this week. Set aside time to explore the opportunities at Global Giving and pick a social innovation YOU want to help support -- and then work together to make a life-changing donation.

How much good can you do in a week?

If you can raise $30 USD, you can buy 500 bricks to build one classroom wall for a new girl's science lab in Uganda

If you can raise 72 ZAR, you can train two young girls as peer leader-educators in Bangladesh

If you can raise 22 EURO, you can buy feed and vaccine for an entire year for 1 woman’s poultry business in Ghana

OR: If you can't make a donation this week, spread the word: Use Facebook and Twitter to inspire your friends beyond the EVOKE network to support women's equal rights and opportunities. Tell them about your favorite Global Giving venture.

Your objective:

Work with friends, family, classmates or neighbors to make a contribution to a social venture focused on empowering girls and women. Tell a story about your efforts to donate, or to raise awareness, in a blog post, video, or photo essay.

This objective is worth +40 spark.

The real question is why?1- Separation of Church and State - Ataturk got it right. Ain't it funny that God was never reveled to a woman? The religions of the world put women down, and no one, especially women, should fall for it.
2- Reproductive Rights - not a man's decision, period. Even if you claim to be a decendent of Christ...no, especially then
3- Women in media - do all actresses need to show skin to succeed? Are women portrayed in healthy ways on TV and in movies? I for one want to relate to the opposite sex as equal partners, and women should promote a level field in this regard.
4- why should men be better? they say men are stronger is this true ? because women can carry heavier weights than men and for a longer time ?
5- what me and my mum say that it is because us women scare and/or mystify them they do not under stand how we give birth or why we have such an awesome power over them
thats what i think

yes this is true but in school its completely opposite. There are so many sexist teachers towards girls. Boys get treated like trash while girls get away with a lot of things. But In the adult world it is different. Just saying though. Men and Woman are intellectually matched. It really doesn't depend on the gender, but more the individual. Thats why we should give woman a chance in the adult world cause they can do jobs just as well, and sometimes even better

I have a daughter and this one is about her future. Three elements will make the difference and women shouldn't compromise on them:
1- Separation of Church and State - Ataturk got it right.

In an effort to raise money on Global Giving, every day for a week, I will post a new cause for someone to donate towards. I will post the link on my Facebook wall and on Twitter. I'll encourage everyone to donate as well as share the link on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. If you can't afford to donate, this is a very simple and easy way for you to spread the word.

The first mission I involved in is empowering women as I have mentioned above. From a woman’s perspective, I am in tremendous favor of this game. First and foremost, I read a lot in WomenWatch. It is a real-time news feed covering women's rights. The story inspires me the most is about promoting girls’ empowerment through sport in Afghanistan. Although Afghanistan is a turbulent country, women also fight for equality in their way. Then in the action part, I invite my roommate Michelle to help support a social innovation. We tried to improve the proportion of women in legislation system. However, we raise very very little money ( too shame to tell you the amount --¬¬__¬¬-- ) which is helpless in our plan. Last, and is also the funny part is to imagine life in 2020 for the girls and women. In my imagination, in 2020, there will be a legislation system which established for women. Women can create some special law.

I've been working with my family and my friends to support women in Africa to go to school and get something out of donations. My favourite donation was to a private company they helped woman and girls in Africa to recieve bikes that will help them drive to school. I think that if you try to do something with enthusiasm and the will to help others. Dreams will come true.

What I have been working on is getting Books hand made by girls in a school in India. They are called the Bandhavi girls. http://www.visthar.org/advocacy/bandhavi/
As a student at Concordia College I spent a Semester here working with these girls and getting to know them while studying other topics such as Identity, Social Justice and Peace and Development.
But what I have working on now is for students at our school, Concordia College, to support these girls not only through donations and buying of books that they make but also through awareness of their situation.

how about we try to solve the ROOT of the problem: that some of the elements of cultures and societies stand in the way of gender equality. remember, what good is a gift is the recipient is not allowed by society or law to use it.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
