Empowering Women - IMAGINE

EVIDENCE TAG:
IMAGINE6
STATUS:

What is life like in 2020 for the girls and women you helped empower in 2010?

Pick any of the 100 Global Giving projects designed to provide equal education and economic opportunity to women -- ideally, the same project you plan to ACT to help this week.

Think about how the lives of girls and women empowered by this very project will change over the next decade.

Some changes will come directly from their experience with this social venture. Other changes may come from major political, legal, technological, or social advances in their village, country, or region of the world.

Picture how all these changes might come together and tell us about a future where the girls and women you supported in 2010 are significantly more empowered than they are today. What is it like, and how did it come to pass?

BONUS RESOURCE: To help you imagine how different life might be for girls and women in the future, find out more about what life is like today:

In 2020, the women I empowered in my last comment would be treated just like everyone else. They would learn to read and write. They would be able to vote. They would not need protests. Also the women will earn the same income as women in the U.S. and this will end their suffering.

Comment by Mahzuza Rahaman on November 16, 2012 at 12:44am

In 2020 everyone will have equal education, rights and more. Women will be able to help the economy.Everyone will be treated like everyone else!

Comment by Caroline Thomson on November 16, 2012 at 12:06am

In 2020 everyone will be equal because by that time everyone will be taught that it makes no sense to not educate women and it benefits no one. It can only benefit educating women because that makes a bigger total literacy rate which affects the country's economy. Also women may bring a new perspective to the government/world.

Comment by Olivia Koenig on November 15, 2012 at 10:23pm

In 2020 women and men will be the same. Same education. And they will have the same amazing opportunities. There will be more women controlling the government in places like Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, AFrica, etc.

Comment by Hal Olson on November 15, 2012 at 9:47pm

In 2020, all remnants of inequality between women and men will be erased in the countries helped by these projects. There will be an equal spread of women and men on the board of directors for prominent companies, in high-paying jobs, in good colleges, and everywhere in between. The goal of all of the women's suffrage movements will by then be fully realized, and it will be amazing. All of this happens through word of mouth, because if enough people get behind one idea, there is nothing that they can't do.

Comment by Lauren Keen on November 15, 2012 at 2:02am

In 2020 women and men will be equal and the thought of them not being equal will seem like ancient history. The things women and men can do when they put their brains together will be beyond amazing and impact our lives forever.

Comment by Lily Davis on November 15, 2012 at 12:57am

In 2020, the fact that everyone is equal will be a true fact. All women will have those great high-paying jobs with the men. All of the brains put together will create amazing things and make men wonder why it wasn't like this before.

Comment by Peter Thomas Duncan on November 15, 2012 at 12:40am
In 2020 woman will have exact equal rights just like all men have now. They will have free word and speech in everything men do. This could really provide governments with more ideas if there are more brains participating.
Comment by Adileni Maldonado on November 14, 2012 at 11:51pm

In 2020 ALL women will be just as equal as men. Women will be able to speak out without fear and they will have a good education and a great job.

Comment by madalyn lieberman on November 14, 2012 at 11:06pm

In 2020 women will be equal to men. In some areas women will be able to get a education so they can get a job. Women can finally have the freedom they need.

Comment by Charles Schwartz on November 14, 2012 at 1:41am

In 2020 women will be equal to men in every aspect and not be doubted just because they were once unequal.

Comment by Kennedy Suttle on November 14, 2012 at 1:16am

In 2020, women will be equal to men. Women will be able to have jobs, divorce their husbands if they want too, and they will have the same education as men. I hope the world will actually be like this in the future. :)

Comment by Christian Sutton on November 13, 2012 at 11:20pm

In 2020, women would have equal rights as men. They will have the freedom for what to do if it's as simple as getting an eduction, jobs, or getting out of the house.

Comment by Anwar green on November 13, 2012 at 10:31pm

in 2020 there will be equal rights. women will be able to leave their homes. some may be lawyers and senators.

Comment by Zeba Huque on November 13, 2012 at 2:10am

In the future, thanks to everyone's help with the situation, women will be as free as ever. They will be recognized as equal as the next person. They won't have to suffer from diseases, or anything harmful again. Women would be able to live freely and receive their rightful justice.

Comment by Hannah Rose Fountain on November 13, 2012 at 1:04am

In 2020, the girls and young women I helped empower are strong and successful businesswomen and social activists. The men in business respect them and together we have helped create equality and are constantly empowering young women and girls to create more generations in which everyone is equal.

Comment by Julia Sherrill on November 13, 2012 at 1:01am

In 2020, women will be treated the same as men. There will be equal shots at everything including education and jobs.

Comment by Harris Cohen on November 12, 2012 at 11:47pm

In 2020 all the girls I helped will become very educated and powerful. They will make the world a better place with their new and creative ideas. They might even surpress the males.

Comment by Jenny Barnes on November 12, 2012 at 11:23pm

In 2020 all of the girls I helped will be treated the same as boys. They will be able to get the same pay, jobs, and education as guys. A girl will be able to play kickball wearing jean shorts and a purple tank top without any ridicule. There will be no rules saying girls can only wear this or that. Girls will have freedom and happiness.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
