The story I investigated dealt with what steps could be taken to make the markets in Papua New Guinea safer for women. The article highlighted that about eighty percent of vendors in the Port Moresby market are women, most of which are extremely poor and depend on selling their goods in order to survive. A study revealed that fifty-five percent of women in this market place experienced sexual violence. Vendors' associations began working to make these places more safe for the women by upgrading the infrastructure, using cashless methods of payment to prevent theft, and implementing a referral system for the survivors of sexual violence.

I recently did a paper on gender inequality in Afghanistan. Steps are being taken to help female inequality but it is slow going. It will take years if not decades for those areas to adapt to women being in positions of power.

I read about the UNESCO making an education available to a broader range of people, and I found in another article on Women's Rights in Qatar that women there are allowed to run for an office, vote, pursue an education, and do many of the things that American women can do.

The UN chief asked for support for Malala and education for children. With education the girls could earn a living and make an impact on not only their lives but those if their kids. The education of the kids will help strengthen women's rights.

The National Organization for Women was established in 1966. Many people have been trying to ignor their existance but it came back strong. They stood up and let everyone know women need rights too. I think they are great for doing that.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More
