Your objective: What breakthrough solution will change the future of money forever?

Meet Prema Salgaonkar. She's helping invent the future of money in Mumbai.

Every day, as part of a program called Mahila Milan (or “women together”), Prema visits more than 450 households in Mumbai's Dharavi slum in order to conduct face-to-face "micro-savings" transactions.

On any given day, up to 150 of the women she visits will deposit a small amount with Prema — anything between 5 to 200 rupees. Over time, these small daily savings help the women plan a better future for their families. And it's not just happening in Mumbai — nationwide in India, more than 60,000 women have joined the Mahila Milan network.

Micro-savings is just one big idea that may change the future of money forever. Social innovators around the world are designing many more kinds of ways to trade, save, barter, earn, purchase, and invest.

Your mission this week: Uncover the creative solution that YOU think will have the biggest impact on the future of money.

Here are some places to start your investigation:

Who else has a truly creative idea for solving the water crisis? Find a great, big idea and share it with the EVOKE network.

The Future of Money
Do-It-Yourself Currencies
World of Good Markets
The Future of Barter
Local Exchange Trading Systems
Community Currencies in the U.S.

You might find more ideas by searching for "alternative currency", "community bank", "virtual currency", or "social banking". Good luck!

Your objective:

What creative solution do you think will make the biggest change in how we use money in the future? Pick your favorite experiment and tell the EVOKE network why you think it will change the world.

This objective is worth +7 knowledge share.

No matter what idea there is, there will always be greed. Greed will cause manipulation. A new form of money will not make economic problems go away. It will only change in what way people take advantage of each other.

Hey, the future of money is really amazing. The ideas of craigbucks, QQ coin and life dollar are awesome. I do own a large amount of QQ coin several years ago. There was no problem for me to buy some real stuff with the virtual money.

What could happen in an economy with NO interest rates? Where we all started with zero debt as individuals and as nations?

The big question about the future of our economy may be ask as such: is it wrong to believe that the choice made by those who live on the planet before us, made economical mistake, base on their lack of knowledge, when they with honnorable reasons for certain chose the economical path we actually acknowledge as ''actual economics''?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Smith

And after many years of mistake and corrections, if we face certaine of the same echoes existing for long, is it crazy to think of a fresh start? Something deferent, new, and mostly unknown to our ''free world''?

The Venus Project has a better idea for what to do with money in the future - make a resource based economy, not a money based one. Read about the great ideas of the leading futurologists on money:
www.thevenusproject.com
Or watch the Youtube film Zeitgeist Addendum for the info on the evils of money and its future in a better society.

Just finished reading an article in "Wired" magazine about the future of money. The main idea I took from that was that one of the most important things to do is make the storage and transfer of money as cheap as possible or ideally free. If we are charged for moving micro amounts then the money soon disappears into the hands of those who don't need it

m-pesa for cheap storage and money transfers is important. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Pesa

I like the "craigbucks" and "twitter" idea of shifting currency. If someone were to back a digital currency, it could go global in no time flat. People could adopt it as they wanted to, and only when they need to. You could use your local money (euro, dollar, yen, etc.) to buy digital currency (DC?) - which that DC could be used all over the world. That would put many more places on the map, financially speaking. It means that any poorer place that wanted to adopt a broader currency could do so.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
