STATUS:

What urgent challenge should EVOKE tackle next?

EVOKE has transformed many cities and communities, but our work is far from done. We want to make EVOKE bigger, better, more resilient, more creative, and more accessible in the future.

Help us decide:

  • WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?
  • WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?
  • WHO would you encourage to play Season 2?
  • HOW would you change the game for Season 2?
  • WHAT new tools would you want as an EVOKE agent?
  • WHY would you come back for a second Season? What more would you want from the experience?

Your objective:

Share your ideas about the future of the EVOKE network in a blog post. What would make this great adventure even better for Season 2?

This objective is worth +10 spark.

I think EVOKE should try to focus more on ways to put peoples ideas into action. Just writing post on here does not solve the issues.

Comment by Kevin Herzog on April 23, 2014 at 2:31am

I think the the evoke network should focus on wars going on between countries. It all needs to stop and is childish. This is a new era and if we would all work together, we our world would be so much more productive and we could accomplish so much more if we did

In my opinion, the next social problem the EVOKE Network should tackle would be expanding upon the educational opportunities, especially for women in under developed countries, across the world. If these opportunities for further education are made available to women then many of the social issues addressed by EVOKE would be resolved because the women would be able to provide for their families. For example, if women are receiving incomes because their education allows them to work at higher paying jobs than they will be able to provide food for their families.

focus on education in third world countries

Evoke should look at fostering entrepreneurship in areas like sub-Saharan Africa. LEARN10

I think we need to focus on poor countries. We are too focused on our minor problems so we can't see actual problems. We need to work to defeat these problems. An example is Ginny Worms in Africa.

Comment by Robert Breeser on December 14, 2012 at 12:38pm

I think we should help the other 90% of the world that is living in extreme poverty to get out of their situation.

Comment by Olivia Koenig on December 14, 2012 at 12:09pm
I think we should really work on putting these plans into action. These missions don't mean anything if we don't do anything about trying to achieve this in our society.
Comment by Brian Adam Smith on December 14, 2012 at 3:04am

I think evoke needs to focus on saving our third world countries. U.S, i know it is a shocker to you, but the world is not only about us. so we should help them become equal to us.

Comment by NaamaErez on December 14, 2012 at 2:53am

I think that they should work on fundraisers and projects rather than a cyber network. Why don't we walk the walk rather than just talk the talk.

Comment by madalyn lieberman on December 14, 2012 at 2:35am

I think evoke should work on helping the animals, because if there are healthy animals to eat the people are free from dieases. Sometimes healthy animals mean a better envoirnment too.

Comment by Sydney Koeneman on December 14, 2012 at 2:20am

I think Evoke should work with the environment more all around the world.

Comment by Brian Hill on December 14, 2012 at 2:17am

And plants.

Comment by Peter Thomas Duncan on December 14, 2012 at 2:05am
I think evoke should work on helping poverty more and helping animals. They could raising money and actually make a bigger move on making our world better.
Comment by Brian Hill on December 14, 2012 at 2:04am

I think Evoke should start to focus on the environmental issues such as saving wildlife necessary for us to keep living.

Comment by Hannah Rose Fountain on December 13, 2012 at 10:59pm

I think Evoke should work on problems like global warming in addition to human rights and human welfare problems, like conflict diamonds or polio.

Comment by Hal Olson on December 13, 2012 at 9:50pm

I believe that evoke should work on some problems that require deeper work in the sociological realm of things rather than the certain physical issues in the world. It would be very good to be able to change the way that people think about the environment and their fellow human beings.

Comment by Grant Reeder on December 13, 2012 at 9:13pm

I think evoke should tackle desertification in Africa. This problem has lead to poverty and lack of water throughout the continent. It also has lead to animal species dying out.

Comment by Lily Davis on December 13, 2012 at 2:52am

I think Evoke could contribute to stpping poachers in Africa. This is killing a lot of animals in Africa.

Comment by Joshua Bennafield on December 12, 2012 at 11:28pm
I think urgent evoke should solve the poaching in African countries. This is cause by things such as war and the supply of sustainable resources for the people.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
