What urgent challenge should EVOKE tackle next?

EVOKE has transformed many cities and communities, but our work is far from done. We want to make EVOKE bigger, better, more resilient, more creative, and more accessible in the future.

Help us decide:

  • WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?
  • WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?
  • WHO would you encourage to play Season 2?
  • HOW would you change the game for Season 2?
  • WHAT new tools would you want as an EVOKE agent?
  • WHY would you come back for a second Season? What more would you want from the experience?

Your objective:

Share your ideas about the future of the EVOKE network in a blog post. What would make this great adventure even better for Season 2?

This objective is worth +10 spark.

I think urgent evoke should solve the natural resoure issues in Africa. For example, solve the water shortage, conflict diamonds, water pollution, and poaching.

Comment by Elise Flanagan on December 12, 2012 at 2:28am

I think the next problem evoke should tackle is either problems in the middle east specifically regarding the Palestinian/Israeli conflict or problems in Africa specifically water pollution, conflict diamonds, animal poaching, and desertification

Comment by Mahzuza Rahaman on December 11, 2012 at 10:24pm

I think that the next thing EVOKE should tackle is the diseases caused by water. Lots of kid die because of drinking polluted water and getting sick.

Comment by Zeba Huque on December 11, 2012 at 10:12pm

I think Evoke should help with Guinea Worm Disease. It is a terrible thing mostly people in Africa o through. Now, Nigeria and Niger hasn't had any cases, but Sudan has had more than 2,000 cases of people with Guinea Worm Disease. It is a painful sight to see and it is much more killer to go through. Evoke should really help people who have this disease.

Not only do I think Evoke should tackle Guinea Worm Disease, but these problems too:

-Child Labor
-Blood Diamond's affects to families
-endangered species
-polluted oceans

And much more that needs assistance.

Comment by Harris Cohen on December 11, 2012 at 9:45pm

I think the next thing EVOKE should tackle would be helping a country with water born diseases
.

Comment by Caroline Thomson on December 11, 2012 at 9:36pm

I think EVOKE's next tackle should be things that people can do something about. For example they could learn about water pollution and how it affects animals and people. It will persuade people to actually make a difference.

Comment by Kennedy Suttle on December 11, 2012 at 2:14am
I think the next evoke should focus on oil spills and the extinction of animals. I also think another major problem is the pollution.
Comment by Julia Sherrill on December 10, 2012 at 10:35pm

They should tackle the dumping of trash into the ocean that is hurting all of the animals.

Comment by Christpher Sprung on December 10, 2012 at 10:30pm

They should focus on the endangered species of animals that are on the risk of extinction.

Comment by Anwar green on December 10, 2012 at 10:09pm

they should tackle poaching because a lot of species are going extinct because of it.

Comment by Lauren Keen on December 10, 2012 at 2:41am

I think Evoke should tackle endangered animals. In Social studies we learned about a gorilla named Koko and how her species is being killed off.

Comment by Mary Crawford Esslinger on December 7, 2012 at 2:50am

I think that the next evoke should focuss on poaching. I have learned about it in Social Studies and it scares me how little I knew about such a huge issue

Comment by CeCe Street on December 6, 2012 at 10:58pm

I think that the next series should show everyone splitting apart and what there lives are like apart. Than they should be brought together by one dramatic episode to save the world. They should address conflict diamonds, and poaching in Africa. Maybe one episode should be about pollution.

LEARN 10

When I am thinking about the future of the EVOKE network and what urgent challenges could be tackled next the following problems/spheres could be in the centre of attention:

> to save endangered animals and plants from extinction given special attention to protection and the reason for the threat

> Special attention should be given to the future and the education of children in different parts of the world. Every child should get the chance for a future prospect and of course to be a chlidren and not to work several hours per day to finance their family and dont have access to education. Here production of western goods and poor work conditions of people could be also addressed.

> Especially for the 'Western World' the trade with food could be important and eye opening. The waste should be reduced and the regional production and sale should be increased. In the interests of developing our society, there must be new awareness of an appropriate treatment of foodstuff.

> Another topic which should be focused is about cultural and ethnical characteristics and differences. Nearly everybody consider her-/ or himself as tolerant and open-minded towards other people, countries and cultures. But I think 'in practice' and every day life the handling and interaction with each other could be improved.

Furthermore I would suggest to support the regional point of reference. In the last missions I tried to integrate regional and local problems and solutions to tackle challenges in my surrounding. I think it is a good start for everyone to recognize and expose the 'near problems' to get a feeling for the 'bigger challenges' in the world.
Maybe it could be possible too, to work together with partners, firms, organizations etc. from the vicinity. Therefore I would suggest to burst the weekly intervals of the missions and instead give the agents two or three weeks time to concentrate on doing one or two 'bigger projects' as a mission with more points together with a partner.

In season 2 evoke should tackle the problem of Child Slavery and Child Poverty. They should have missions with questions like what you would do to stop Child Slavery or to stop Child Poverty. They could have quests that would make people more aware of how bad Child Slavery and Child Poverty are. Hopefully this would make more people want to make a change and to stop these horrible things from happening. Evoke is a great website and I dont think anything should change except for how long it takes for your blog post to be approved. I would recommend Evoke to many people. Evoke is a great game and I would come back for season 2 because it really gets you thinking and makes you more aware of whats going on in the world.

Comment by Livvi Kemp on June 11, 2012 at 10:51pm

In Season 2 EVOKE should tackle the ongoing problem of Child Slavery. They should have all EVOKE Agents give their best ideas on how to stop child slavery. A few missions or quests could hugely benefit the way people feel about it. It could even persuade people to do even more to help.

In season 2, Evoke should solve the problem about Joseph Kony and his child army in Uganda. This is a huge problem and I think Evoke (in season 2) should try to solve it and think of ideas to stop it. I would encourage other cla**** at school to play the game, and tell them that it really makes you think. I don't think that the game should change in any way, except for the time it takes for the blog posts to be approved. It could be a bit quicker. I don't think new tools are really needed, it is fine as it is. I would come back for the second season because of the learning experience that you get. It actually makes me think hard and carefully about my social skills. Nothing needs to change, it is a great game and experience!

We should focus on the problem of student education around the globe where there are some kids in like African countries such as Chad and Somalia who don't have necessary tools to learn
Comment by Carter Small on July 7, 2010 at 4:14pm
Evoke should tackle the challenge of people taking responsibility for their actions

Evoke should focus on students problems

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
