A crash course in changing the world.
This picture was taken three months after Hurricane Katrina. The day I arrived was the first day they'd seen anyone from MEMA, FEMA, or a major aid organization (I was none of those).
I was the only person they didn't attack, as I was telling them about methods to salvage things from their home, and possibly restore it without having to tear it down.
I didn't stay, but fortunately the Burners Without Borders relocated there shortly after this photo and did amazing work. Look up Burn on the Bayou...
