on a personal level, this makes me think about my family. My mum's side is Polish and most of them were in Prison camps, but none of them hold anything against the people who were responsible, instead always advocating forgiveness and new starts. The rusty barbed wire represents the fall of those that feel they need to opress, and the prosperity of nature and respect (from the greenery in the background) - I put a little discussion of respect in my early blogging, have a read if you want to know how I feel about it!

It also shows to me that people can be locked out of enthusiasm for greenery. Certainly in Britain the 'Grow your own' phenomenon seems to have become a marketing gimmick, and not a way of life of self-sustainable living, and the fact that it's been reduced to frivolity means that people do not feel engaged, involved or interested in self-sufficiency or re-use. Consumerism, in my view, has fenced off the opportunity for communities and individuals to enjoy the pleasures and rewards of self-sufficiency.

it makes me think of our efforts to keep the deer out of our gardens...

Ayala, LOL, spoken like a true farmer! It makes me think that what once held us captive is only an illusion, and the little chrysalis protected by the "O" in the wire is symbolic of our transformation.

Ok, so for the background of this photo:
This is a park in the middle of Pisco, Peru. It is almost completely surrounded by elementary and high schools, yet it is also surrounded by barbed wire. Few students have ever stepped inside it.

When I first encountered it, it was the only park in town that was not turned into a refugee camp after the earthquake.

I was immediately struck by the beauty of the gardens inside it, the desolation of the streets surrounding it, the ma**** of children gathering and moving around it, and the solitary gardener who worked inside. I introduced myself to him, and told him about some of the local teachers and principals I'd spoken to and their concern that there were no safe places for children to gather.

He was surprisingly open to what I said. So I connected him with my contacts, and started bringing kids into the park. The day I first went in, I took this picture, because it summed up the Peruvian architecture and culture that had all come crashing down in the earthquake.

This is an awesome story Nick, and a triumph of the spirit! You are truly a citizen of the world.

When i first look at the picture, honestly, it doesn't mean anything at all. Sorry. But I've read the story of Nick and i realized that it was kinda preserving a garden of eve amidst hell. What do you think?

I tried to think but I didn't get the absolute answer. As creative thinker, I still remember what is called suicide. Where you find a person hang himself because of personal problems. But I am so confuse about it. I will take another time to figure out.

this is very complicated to discover but I found that there are barriers to reach what is good.What is good is far but ,somethings stop us to reach that far so there need to be put more efforts.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
