Kissena Corridor Park Garden

Recently in English we've been studying gardening and the KissenaCorridor Park Garden. At first,I thought how did this have anything todo with English and writing. When I saw the gardens and how beautifulthey were I started to think maybe I could write about a specific plotand maybe show how beautiful the gardens where through words. I knowthat many people feel that this assignment is boring or pointless but ina way I find it relevant and meaningful. After doing this study I feelmore…See More

IMAGINE9-2011 what would I do

"It's the year 2011, and the next pandemic flu has just reachedYOUR part of the world."I would try to set up portable hospitals so that larger hospitals don't get overcrowded as quickly. I would make sure to have people maintain these facilities to make sure that they are running the way they are supposed to. I would try to get people from different organizations to help me with this. I would also try and get donations from people so that I can help find a way to deal with this pandemic.…See More

IMAGINE8-When i'm 100

I think that by the time I am 100 I will been incredibly wise and experience with life. I would pass down all my gardening knowledge and recycling knowledge as an attempt to help keep the earth green and healthy. I think that at that time pollution might be a problem so maybe my knowledge would help. I would make sure to list a lot of details about gardening etc kind of like a list of step by step instructions.

LEARN7-How to deal with a Crisis

I believe that a major crisis that could occur in my community is flooding due to a hurricane. The area that I live in is very near water and is low lying. We already have minor flooding issues but I believe they will get worse. I think that we should have pumps and other ways to drain the water ready so that we will be prepared if this happens. I also think that my neighborhood should have a easy way to communicate to each other. It will help spread urgent information around and keep everyone… Continue

Passing on Indigenous Knowledge

In the future, indigenous will refer to the populations of different planets. The wisdom I would like to pass from Earth is to remember the lessons of the past and not to press Earth's culture on other planets but instead to merge them.See More

LEARN5- Future of Money

What creative solution do you think will make the biggest change in how we use money in the future? Pick your favorite experiment and tell the EVOKE network why you think it will change the world.Of the proposed experiments and financial solutions, the community focused trade organizations, such as World of Good, have the greatest potential for stewarding forward a more prosperous future for developing regions. The group taps into impoverished artisans to help foster community economies by…See More

LEARN1- Social Innovator

My favorite, and perhaps most needed social innovation today, is "Don’t fight culture (If people cook by stirring their stews, they’re not going to use a solar oven, no matter what you do to market it. Make them a better stove instead.)"This simple idea has two meanings. First, it shows that the injustice of poverty and instability does not have a cookie cutter answer. Rather, it takes domestic and well educated responses that address the factors that drove a culture to suffer so, such as from…See More
