New Years 2020

It's December 31, 2019 and we are waiting in anticipation to celebrate New Year's Day 2020. In the back room we have several stationary bikes set up to power the TV set as we watch TV and wait for the final countdown. We all take turns riding the bikes so we all get some exercise in and no one gets worn out from doing all the pedaling. We'll catch a few hours of sleep and then be up again to repeat the bike riding process while we watch the Rose Parade. For breakfast we will have German… Continue

LEARN7

In Southern California earthquakes are likely natural disaster. In order to prepare for an earthquake using the Ushahidi platform we would track fires, power outages, aftershocks, roadblocks, and emergency response routes. We would also share the following information: cell phone service reception, areas to stay away from, aid shelters, emergency evacuation routes,

Call to Action for the Film Industry

The flu pandemic of 2011 has hit Southern California and pandemonium breaks out. People are confused and unsure what to do to keep safe. The people I would choose to organize in response to the flu pandemic would be individuals in the film industry. They have the tools to reach a large section of the population and quickly educate individuals. I could call on them to design short public service announcements and short videos instructing individuals to remain calm and methods to protect… Continue

First Female Cambodian Prime Minister

It is 2020 and a new milestone has been achieved in Cambodian History. Samnang Kolap Thong has just been appointed the first female Prime Minister of Cambodia. She grew up in a poverty stricken rural area. Through the Lotus Pedals program she received a bicycle which enabled her to attend school and obtain an education that she would not have normally gotten. With her education she was able to graduate at the top of her class at… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
