I am particularly interested in two aspects of food security - (a) production that caters to local needs and taste in abundance/availability and (2) affordability.
I look at my home state of Kerala which in my childhood ( 1965-1980) yielded a wide variety of crops, fruits, nuts, herbs, greens, meats, etc and while there was no abundance, there was availability in variety and food was adequate.
