It's not too different from the food we ate ten years ago. We have potatoes, vegetables, and meat. The main difference is that the food has come from local farmers in the region, due to a huge increase in fuel prices driving up the cost of importation. The food tastes good. This learning task really made me think about my assumptions. I live in the south of England - a relative bread-basket to the rest of the world. Or is it? OK, we have lots of farm land, farm animals, and natural resources. The weather is pretty conducive to growing food and maintaining relative food security. But I'm not sure that means that - should I have to - I would be able to grow enough for all my family's needs myself. Continue
