The main problem is that wind farms and solar panels only power devices while the wind is blowing or the sun is shining, there is no effective battery system... until this scientist at MIT came up with an effective liquid battery.

According to an Economist article I read there is enough food today to feed everyone, it is just a distributional issue that stems from government corruption and cost to transport.
In the future food issues will be multiplied by desertification, so tax incentives should be put in place for keeping at-risk areas green

In 10 years I'll hopefully be working in international business, I think a good model for that would be to buy some of the USA's annual surplus of food and sell it to the countries with a high demand for food, and investing in efficient farming equipment, soil fertilization, and water desalinization would also be a great benefit to the struggling nations.
