The developed world uses too much of everything, to the detriment of the rest of the world, and ultimately, to the future developed world as shortages become
commonplace. We must apply social innovation to reduce that
consumption, via conservation, efficiency improvements, lowered
expectations, or change of habits. Altruism does not work for the
