Is it so hard?

A few second's Googling found the following...

Impressive. The comments that follow are less so, but raise the issue of who does what rather well. Who's job is it to clean up the world… Continue

The Not a NIMBY option - Westray turbines for Nottingham UK ?

Copy of an email sent to

Vigor Renewables after a meeting just now.

Dear Sir or Madam

I am a member of the Lady Bay Community Association, a local residents group which has been successful in protecting the land 'East of Lady Bay' from a multiplicity of damaging developments since 1976. The LBCA s not a NIMBY group - we have always been looking for some way of using the land which will add… Continue

Farm land for food or football?

I have just come back from a local residents meeting. For all the time I have lived in Lady Bay the farm land to the East of where we live has been earmarked for development. Almost every year there has been a new attack to fend off, and we have won year after year. One of our best arguments has always been - it's good farm land, it should grow food'.

But, a few years ago, the farmer who worked one of these fields died, and the council did not want another farmer to take up the land, they… Continue

Urban street food

It's a shock when you discover members of your own family have never seen peas in a pod, let alone on a plant. Last year I took a handful of peas, the died brown things that are seeds of a plant, not the florescent green things that make a sludge on a plate, and dropped or 'sowed' them in to our 'Street Furniture'.

We have brick boxes, built at a few places along the roads here, initially intended for flowers, but abandoned by the Council because of funding cuts. Local residents have taken… Continue

Hello! I'm out of the game for the foreseeable, but you wanted to know how to develop mac games? If you have any minor programming experience , like C++ anything like that, this will be easier to learn - you'll need to get a book on objective C, then you need to register with Apple to become a registered developer, and they'll stick you on the developer programme.

However, if you have a great idea for an app, there a few develpers who will take an idea out there, and share royalties with you - in order to secure a deal like this you've got to come up with a killer app and have everything in place (ie, user requirements doc) then they can get programming straight away - don't just approach them with vague ideas as bad reputations tend to follow you around!!!

Best of luck - you can mail me for links if you want - if you do, give me a personal mail on here and I will mail you my personal mail address.

Take care...:o) Lynn :o)

Hey Simon, thanks for your comment on my profile and sorry for replying that late. I'm (almost) always late in replying, but I do my best to keep track of all the people I get in touch with. I've read some of your blog posts and really appreciated your activism. I'll take some time to read more

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
