Living in Houston, Tx so close to the Gulf coast, a problem that we face and have faced are hurricanes. We had a pretty bad one, Hurricane Ike, in September of 2008. I think Ushahidi is a wonderful way to spread news fast and to a lot of people. Unlike twitter and facebook, Ushahidi focuses on only crises, important information regarding those crises, and getting help to those desperately need it.
