In Praise of Little but Great Ideas

A couple decided to tackle the problem of discarded metal containers used on ship

Sometimes, small is beautiful. I decided to show you how we can find heroes even in small contribution to social change. A couple from the province of Quebec, in Canada, decided to build their own house in huge metal containers. After 15 years of use, they are discarded instead of repaired. Some see them as trash, others…

Eating more and better : you can do it, we can help

Or: How I taught the love for carrots and how to grow them

As summer is becoming more than just a wish in the midst of the winter, I set myself up to prepare my friends for urban gardening. While Mother Nature does the hardest part of it, actually growing the plants, getting prepared with proper garden containers and important informations is the key to sucess.

The…

The Year 2020

I currently study journalism because I think mass medias can be, and should be, a great way to educate people outside of the school system. Really, I see them as a possible mean to empower individuals and community, giving them essential informations on how things work and what's the social/economic/political/cultural/etc. context of actions and decisions that make up the news we see everyday.

My ideal, then, is to work as an educator, even if that's not in a media. I want…

Interesting secret to innovation

keep learning from your customers - Having a great idea is good. Developping it in a way that other people will want to jump in and start sharing your idea is the point of innovation. But this key secret holds the key for a good, creative momentum. They say that you need to make new things so they can be used by at least a million people. Well then, that's about that many ways to improve the idea. Big companies are mining through gigantic data bases of costumers critics to find "free"… Continue

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
