When I'm 100 years old, we will most likely not be using helicopters anymore and leadership will be much different. My indigenous knowledge will be home to use leadership for good and how helicopters were a valuable tool in the Army when I joined and just a handy piece of equipment for the world in general.

I think this is a good case study because if we develop more energy efficient homes or workplaces then we can divert excess energy towards other things. Also we can conserve and use less fuel to produce energy.

Charleston and the lowcountry has done many things to help the ecosystem. The main things that they have done are better waste management, testing the local waters, creating mariculture centers like the one in Bluffton that help check the biodiversity of the fish in the local rivers. I have told many of my friends of the city's goals and they responded by how stating that the Citadel does its part by emphasizing recycling in its barracks.

I could use Ushahidi to understand the issues with the local marshes and Charleston harbor. The main issues for the local marshes are changing chemical make-ups in the water and possibly could result from the harbor being drudged to make it deeper. Some stats I would use for Ushahidi would be chemicals that threaten the local marine ecosystems, their levels, and the negative effects of harbor deepening.

In 2010, women from Burma are severely limited in terms of education with only 11 percent going to university or higher schooling. The main issues are lack of a source of income to pay for the schooling and work load. If this project goes through successfully, that means that more women can gain higher education in Burma, use those skills and apply them to the country. Women gaining an education in Burma could contribute towards building the community and bring up standards. By 2020, Burma…

For being unable to donate money, I have instead spread the word of ways to help equal the opportunities for women and empower them. I showed them the global giving website and stated how for many of programs you can donate a dollar and that small amount of money can positively impact a struggling woman on the other side of the globe.

I found a compelling article in Woman Watch which explains the issue of gender violence in Somalia and how the locals and other organizations are trying their best to stop it. Unfortunately, the article had an example of how a woman by the name of Safia was threatened, held captive, and raped for two weeks. This is just a signal example of the horrible issue of gender violence. The United Nations Development Programme and the UNFPA have created institutions and are working with local…

This is just a signal example of the horrible issue of gender violence. The United Nations Development Programme and the UNFPA have created institutions and are working with local volunteers to stop or prevent this violence in Somalia. It sounds difficult, but a good first step.
Micronesia's New Virtual Currencytag:www.urgentevoke.com,2015-02-12:4871302:BlogPost:3036232015-02-12T04:02:06.000ZHarrison Dixonhttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/HarrisonDixon

Typically as a cadet, you lend people items (cleaning supplies, uniform items, accessories) and in return when you need something they give you one of those items. This trade system is almost a daily occurrence in the barracks as I may trade food for materials to help with cadet activities or let someone use my foot-powder to prevent blisters and in return I get starch to make my duty uniform. But, overall it's a good system.
Do it Yourself Currencytag:www.urgentevoke.com,2015-02-12:4871302:BlogPost:3036182015-02-12T03:31:19.000ZHarrison Dixonhttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/HarrisonDixon

From the Upstart Business Journal, there is a post proposing that Do It Yourself Currencies are the future of money. These currencies are virtual and localized and the best thing about them is that they appear naturally when conditions are right. I think this type of experiment is important because it allows for a currency to naturally appear in a region according to its conditions and is specialized to the local economy. I think this type of experiment is important because it allows for a currency to naturally appear in a region according to its conditions and is specialized to the local economy. An example of this is the QQ coin for the QQ network or the M-PESA service. These have contributed to the financial well-being and economic stability by providing a currency that works. I could see currencies to progressing to such a form.
Where I'll be in 2020tag:www.urgentevoke.com,2015-02-05:4871302:BlogPost:3032442015-02-05T01:40:44.000ZHarrison Dixonhttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/HarrisonDixon

In 2020, I will be a Army officer which means there could be a huge range of possibilities of where I would be and what I would be doing. At that time, I will picture myself in a foreign country contributing and leading soldiers against enemies of the United States or possibility being a part of peacekeeping operations. I would have a huge impact on fellow soldiers and natives of the country that I'm deployed at.

My hero of social innovation that I am shadowing online will be Jay Cousins from AfriGadget because of the simple yet effective tools he created that can innovate African society one child at a time. One simple example is the Betabook which is a white board book that can help promote learning within Africa. I will keep up with them online by liking the AfriGadget page on facebook.

This is important to get right because many societies have the tendency to build their economies or markets on a process or resource that will not be there for the long-term or only allow short-term benefits. To help countries, especially those in Africa, continue to progress it is important to get this secret right. It will help the population be motivated to improve their standard of living and overall contribute towards their economic goals.
