Afghan society is struggling because of the war. According to World Factbook in 2010, Afghanistan is an impoverished and least developed country, one of the world's poorest. In 2010, the nation's GDP exchange rate stood at $16.63 billion and the GDP per capita was $1,000. UNICEF estimates that more than 80 percent of females have a lack of education.

As you can see, war and poverty have significantly limited women's lives in Afghanistan. I imagine in 2020, Afghanistan will have a more peaceful society and more women will be able to have access to education with a rise in GDP. it will be a long process for afghan economy to turn around, hopefully with the work of Afghan ambassadors. there will be more doors open for Afghan products such as pomegranates (fruit) and rugs will export to other countries. With the boost of economy, women will gain more rights and more eduction.
I recently read the article, "New study shows four women raped every 5 minutes in the DRC." I was truly shocked by the way women were treated in Democratic Republic of the Congo ()DRC).
I think this is a severe issue that should be addressed by UN as soon as possible. The frequent sexual towards women will soon lead to a higher rate of crime, a rapid spread of Sexual transmitted diseases(STD) and a potential thread to younger teenage girls. Congo government should invest more time and money on this matter, in order to create a healthy living environment for the women in DRC.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has provided suggestions on ways to prevent and end sexual violence,

Call the police if you see or hear evidence of domestic violence.
Support a friend or family member who may be in an abusive relationship.

Volunteer at a local domestic violence shelter or another organization helping survivors or working to prevent violence.

Raise your children to respect others. Teach your children to respect others and to treat others as they would like to be treated. Lead by example.

Protect yourself. Take a self-defense class.

Become an activist. Participate in a Take Back the Night march, a yearly march held in most major cities to raise awareness about violence against women. Or tell your congressional representatives that you expect their support for the funding of domestic violence survivor services and prevention programs.

Local Exchange Trading Systems (LETS) also known as LETSystems are locally initiated, democratically organised, not-for-profit community enterprises that provide a community information service and record transactions of members exchanging goods and services by using the currency of locally created LETS Credits. In some places, e.g. Toronto, the scheme has been called the Local Employment and Trading System. In New South Wales, Australia, they were known as Local Energy Transfer Systems.
In some places, e.g. Toronto, the scheme has been called the Local Employment and Trading System. In New South Wales, Australia, they were known as Local Energy Transfer Systems.

LETS are generally considered to have the following five fundamental criteria:

Cost of service — from the community for the community
Consent — there is no compulsion to trade
Disclosure — information about balances is available to all members
Equivalence to the national currency
No interest
Of these criteria, "equivalence" is the most controversial. According to a 1996 survey by LetsLink UK, only 13% of LETS networks actually practice equivalence, with most groups establishing alternate systems of valuation "in order to divorce [themselves] entirely from the mainstream economy." Michael Linton has stated that such systems are "personal money" networks rather than LETS.
There are 6,708,259 houses in Canada, as of October 16th 2009. If every home in 2020 can put a filled 2L bottle in the tank of the toilette, you can save 2L of water for every flush. If each house is averaging 1 flush a day, then the Canadians can save 13416518 L each day! This is an easy task and hopefully if we can get every home in the world to do this, it will definitely make a huge impact and provides at a bit relief to the water crisis.

My favorite holiday has to be Christmas. I would like to share this holiday with my parents, so I will probably be driving a hybrid vehicle to my parents' house. The car will be my first one, I chose this hybrid car because of it's fuel-efficiency and the fact that it emits less emission. The reason why it's hybrid is that, it's powered by fuel and electricity, which saves gas and helps the environment.
Methods include:

Boosting agricultural science and technology. Current agricultural yields are insufficient to feed the growing populations. Eventually, the rising agricultural productivity drives economic growth.

Securing property rights and access to finance.

Enhancing human capital through education and improved health.

Conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms and democracy and governance based on principles of accountability and transparency in public institutions and the rule of law are basic to reducing vulnerable members of society.
When Alchemy calls me, I would love to volunteer to do anything I can to contribute to the Japan food crisis relief. I can even go to Japan following my graduation from med school to help the people there as my first year of being a medical doctor. I plan on bringing lots of Vitamin A tablets to help the children there, which will reduce the possibility of night blindness when the children do not have enough nutrients from their food.
All in all, I will be a helpful 27-year-old man, who is pleased to help others and ready to make a small change that can help a significant amount of people.Design, research and business strategy By Dave Taittag:www.urgentevoke.com,2011-04-17:4871302:BlogPost:1810822011-04-17T16:10:37.000ZBarry Lihttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profile/BarryLi

‘He is now finding that his most meaningful collaborations are with strategy groups within Nokia. He has been invited into much larger conversations about new markets and product strategies’

And ‘The passion that comes from direct contact, true connection to specific social needs, has become an essential force in managing strategic decisions.’

Research and design play a pivotal role in Nokias strategy, building a solid design strategy. Future research directions have been developed to form Agenda 2015 which focuses on the following areas:

User and context modeling
Physically Personal Devices
Human Interface
Mixed Reality
Creativity
Scalable Service Platforms
Dynamic Wireless
Internet of Things
Nokia says this is the foundation for research over the coming years to discover the breakthroughs that will open up new business for the company. Nokia’s strategy relies on growing, transforming, and building the Nokia business to ensure its future success.
