Power Shift - Imagine

In 2020, I am having a barbecue behing my house with my family and it's on the afternoon. I am going to use the solar cooker for cooking the meat and everything. The solar cooker uses the sun and that's why I can only use it when it's in the afternoon, at night I can't cook anything, but the bad thing about solar cooker is that it would take twice longer time than cooking with the normal barbecue grill.

Energy generator from hamster wheel

Task for LEARN3 was to design a new to power something we use everyday. We use lots of different things everyday, starting from electronic gadgets to transportation, which requires energy. Thus, we have to come up with some way to generate them in different way. What I came up with is to generate a desk light from the energy that is produce by hamster wheel. Hamster loves to play on hamster wheel. It spins and spins, it can generate lots of energy. There are usually at least 2 hamsters each…

Solar Cooker

Oven or stove are too expensive for poor people. Once it's broke, it's hard to repair it and guarantee it will safe like before. The energy that we need to cook on it also not free, sometimes we need to cut down trees and buy gas that if you drop it, it will explode. Therefore, fuel will run out if we don't use it properly and deforestation will extinct trees that aged more than hundred years. I'm thinking that we can change those problems. Solar cooker can help those poor people. The energy…

The Trio Teen

Inventing has to do with Science and Technology. What is the definition of "Invent"? Invent is to create or design things that has not existed before and it must be original. What I mean by original is that... The idea that you use is basically from you. Each year there are hundreds of TEEN participate on making new items or let's say invent new product for the world eco-friendly.

Through my research, I found a 3 young girls who invented a amazing product.

This could be one of the…

ACT3: Design a new way to power something you use everyday. Blog post

The task of this blog post is designing a new way to power something. Almost everyday, I go and get home from outside school lessons using my bike, and I always get home at 7.00 pm. So, its going to be dark at 7.00 and I dont have something to light my path. I am thinking to design a very mainstream bicycle dynamo by using the wheels to power the light. But then, I decided to change the power source. The new power source that I want to use is the wind. I decide to use wind because every time…

In 2020, Where Will I Be?

In 2020, when Alchemy calls me, where will I be? When Alchemy calls me in 2020, I plan to be a Marine Biologist training dolphins every day. I will give people the experience of a life time. When they touch the dolphin, they will gasp because of the silkiness of the dolphin's blubber (Like I did). I will be in salt water all day and come home smelling like fish knowing that I completed my job. When you love your job, you feel like you have been playing all day instead of working and you know…

Jonny Cohen, brains behind 'GreenShields'

Jonny Cohen has invented a project named 'GreenShields'. He found a way to save schools money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing school bus fuel efficiency, on the way to home from school when he was 12 years old. This idea popped into his head when he was having summer cla****, based on aerodynamics at Northwestern University. His first idea was trying to reduce drag and allow the vehicle to use less fuel by attaching a streamlined, transparent Plexiglas cover over a school…

Food Security

Food is one of the most important thing in our lives. Our energy come from the food. If we don't eat any food, we won't have our powers and die. Basically, we eat food 3 times in a day, but sometimes poor people can't eat more than once in a day. In my country, Indonesia, I always see that there are many children at the streets and sing some songs, play the guitar, and many thing. The reason that they are there is they want some money to eat food. With 237 million inhabitants, Indonesia is…

When Alchemy calls me, Where will I be?

In 2020, I will be 23 years old. I might study in university and look for the job or have my own job and do the work hard. On weekend, I might play with my friends. If I study in university at that time, I will like to get the bachelor of arts.

However, If Alchemy calls me to help the Tokyo food crisis, I will like to help as much as I can. I will fly to Tokyo and help them out with the food crisis problem. It's difficult to help the food crisis problem, but If there is a way to resolve…

I am shadowing the women who run Susan G.Komen for the Cure. I chose to shadow these women because I want to help cure cancer when I get older. Cancer took my dog away from me two days after Christmas, so now I truly want to be able to cure it. I am shadowing the women by going on their website at least once every week and checking their updates.

LEARN1

Here is the rule I chose, copied and pasted:

Innovate on existing platforms (We’ve got bicycles and mobile phones in Africa, plus lots of metal to weld. Innovate using that stuff, rather than bringing in completely new tech.)

I believe this is an important skill because we need to preserve resources easily found in certain places. If we brought in new technology, that must come from somewhere else, and by bringing in completely new tech. we would be depriving it from where it…

Do the hard work needed to find a simple solution. As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”—and it is the key to this type of design work.

This is quite important because many people in Africa who earn $1 to $2 a day cannot afford "the fruits of life". This begs the question how can I make my innovation simple enough so that people in poverty can afford it. Da Vinci got it right,"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." You must strip your innovation…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
