Social Change role model

I chose Congressman Thomas Rooney as my social change role model. He is the congressman for the 17th district of Florida and is working to improve the lives of many floridians in a very large district. I chose him because of his impeccable work ethic and character. He is passionate about fixing the issues that face the state. After researching his representative history, I admire his efforts to stay true to his morals and values and to resist the temptation of focusing on politics over…

Imagine 1

It is always so hard to imagine what my life will be like, whether it is next week or in 6 years. My plans and dreams are always changing but hopefully some will come true. In the year 2020, I will have graduated with my masters in student affairs. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always helped others through volunteering. That passion translated into my college experience, and I know that I can continue to help others as a student affairs professional. I will be living near a…

Learn 1

Innovation is such an important aspect of our society because there's always the need to continue to improve what we have. I once read a quote that stated innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. Before taking a leadership course, I hadn't realized what that statement meant. Now I realize how important innovation is for a leader. Innovation is the process of creating something new that didn't exist before, whether an idea or product. If a leader is innovative, then they have…

LEARN5- Bitcoins

I think the world should get out of the pattern of paper money. Bitcoins are a centralized digital currency. They are digital coins that you can send via the internet from person to person. There is no need for banks. Anybody from country to country could use this global market. If not Bitcoins, I believe that digital currency is a new innovation that will make the world move along with technology.

New Years 2020

As we make our way out to the town square I check the time on my phone. It's 11:30 PM, almost time. I notice that my phone is also fully charged. For years now we've had technology in our clothing that picks up variations in heat and uses it to charge mobile devices. At this point we don't even worry about battery life. We continue our walk down the cold streets with the street lights guiding our way. It's nice to know that these lights essentially power themselves. During the day they…

Walking Over Sustainable Energy

Sustainable energy has the potential to be integrated into our lives in almost any way imaginable. New technologies are being developed each year to take advantage of these oppurtunites. One student, Zachery Halem, is looking to put such technologies to use in his own life. Zach is a senior at Riverdale High School in the Bronx, New York. He had been interested in sustainable technologies for quite some time, but it wasn't until recently that he was able to make his passion into a reality.…

Using New Money System

I used SquareUp for the first time to pay for my fraternity's formal. I really thought it was very user friendly. It makes me think that the future of financial transactions will be all computerized.

Future of Money

I think that the most interesting experiment is the use of internet to pay people. I have already personally used Square, so I feel like it has promise to be a very successful company. The internet allows the transaction of money to be seamless. The twitter transaction concept was very interesting.

My hero in a pandemic

I need to get a group together to address and raise awareness on a pandemic online. I would get doctors in research hospitals around the country, then I would get a public relations team involved. These two groups of people would have to work together to effectively translate information into language that people would understand. The PR team would tackle social media releases, press releases, and media coverage. I would want the doctors to log onto one system to release information to other…

My Future Wisdom

When I am 100, I think I will want to pass on my wisdom that everything changes and everything can change. Nothing is stagnant. As young people, you should learn to accept and embrace change. Change is a crazy concept that overcomes our life. I my life I have seen the evolution of the internet and the electronic age. I was born in a time where computers and cellphones were not necessary. Technology is a wonderful invention, but do not forget about your relationships. You can change people's…

Imagine your future self.

In 2020, I will be 25 years old. I hopefully will be living someplace sunny, like Florida or California. I hope to be working at a hospital as a nurse practitioner. My personal goals are to continually learn and be an innovative leader in the nursing field as a nurse practitioner. My main goal is to provide quality patient care. After some research on different people that are tackling the world's biggest problems with creative, innovative solutions, I thought that Aviva Presser Aiden & Hugo Van Vuuren had a very groundbreaking and innovative discovery. Aviva Presser Aiden & Hugo Van Vuuren are leaders in energy technology. They took a product that is seemingly everywhere: soil, and used the microbial fuel produced by microbes in the soil to generate electricity. Their technology generates electricity from…

Celebration In the Future

The opening of the olympics would be a fun day to celebrate. To celebrate the 2020 olympics, I would be watching the opening ceremonies through the internet. The internet this year has revolutionized watching the olympics because you can stream it to any tv screen. I image in 2020 we would get all tv from from the internet. We could pause or play the events. On the internet, we could select what kinds of events we want recorded. We could watch without advertisements and commentators. We can…

The Future for Evoke

The evoke network should tackle women trafficking and slavery still occurring around the world. Evoke should build up a community in Germany because they are one of the most innovation and sustainable country sin the world and would be in a position to change the world. I would encourage other college age students to do this because we are the future of the business world right now and businesses play a key role in changing the environment. The game could be cooler if there were ideas of…

Case Study Mozambique

This project emphasizes forest management for fuelwood production. This case was in 1998. The forests of Mozambique was isolated from natural resources like soil and water. One of the problems is a lack of organized villages who interact with each other. They wanted to illicit change in three areas-attitude toward outsiders, work with neighbors commercially, and cash producing activities. They produced change by making three people in charge of project management instead of the usual one.…

How do people react in a Pandemic?

People react in panic-enducing situations differently. If it is an outbreak of a disease, it all depends on the severity of the outbreak. Every time people learn of a risk, they temporarily overreact. They evaluate the environment and how at risk they are. They "knee-jerk" reaction protects people from potential crisis. The main problem, which surprises me, is denial, not panic. Because humans are programmed to create a circuit breaker when panic occurs, denial is a useful mask. People who…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
