Breaking News! A new bank has just opened in Florida this year (2020) and it is no longer lending money to people. Instead, you can use only what money you actually have in your name and instead loan money to friends and family personally. This decreases the enormous amount of debt that is such an issue in this day and age and instead forces you to live within your means as well as count on support from those around you and not the government. Today, instead of paying my roommate back for food in cash, I asked her if she would mind accepting an alternate form of payment and when she agreed I cleaned her car for her. This is an example of a service that would normally cost her money, but instead I did it for her to pay her back for something else. It worked out well and I feel that it was truly a "win-win" situation.

It is very interesting to consider the future of money not only in this country but also around the world. Bartering is an ancient way to exchange goods and services and it seemed to work out fairly well for the most part so it would be interesting to see what a modern barter system would do for the global economy as people had the freedom to live more within their means and actually contribute their goods or services to society.

I believe that Water for People is the best organization and the one I would be most likely to donate to and be a part of.

EcoSchools teaches students about how we can use water. They study the flow of water across their grounds and look for ways to improve water quality and infiltration. When I am 100, my advice to pass down will be that fighting against change will never succeed in the long run. The only thing that remains constant is change. We will change our view of the way the world works, technology, and ideology. I don't know what social or political issues will arise when I'm 100, but I know the push for change will not end.

In Cameroon, there was a conflict between local communities and a company called Plantecam. Plantecam was benefiting tremendously from harvesting the bark from trees, and the local villages were not benefiting at all. This lead to illegal harvesting by the local villages. There became an excess of harvesting and it was harming the local environment. In the end, there was a compromise solution to the problem. The concept of participatory conservation was introduced.

We are going to try and make everyone all over the world wear a swim suit on this day in 2020 to draw attention for out need for water not only for drinking but in so many other aspects of our life. If everyone is wearing a bathing suit, we will get lots of media coverage, which will be a perfect platform to address the needs of our world in terms of clean water and more of it!

I am going to post signs in the bathrooms where I live reminding people to turn off the water quickly and when they are done using it immediately so that we can start habits that will stick with people even when they leave college.

At UF, the sororities and fraternities participate in the water challenge to see which house can successfully use less water over the period of about a month and it is really amazing to see how large groups of people are able to come together and work on an issue that truly faces the entire world even though we don't experience any negative consequences first hand. My sorority really took this challenge on and focused on small ways that we could make a big difference.

We live in a speedy pressurized world. A world where no one has time to stop and think about what is really going on, let alone fix it. Rather than constantly trying to keep up with news from the media, perhaps it is time to take action ourselves. It only takes one person to make a difference but imagine what all of us could do. Urgent Evoke has given us the light to lead us down the path to change.

I think that we should focus on actually implementing these ideas in our communities. Urgent Evoke is great but it is all idea. No one is actually going into the world and fixing the problems at large.

Another Mission I think we should focus on is poverty. At least start within our own country and build out to the rest of the world.

I rounded up a group of high school and college students who are hungry to make a difference. They have made a campaign and raised enough money to cure everyone in our area who has the flu. They have put in so much time and effort to make this happen.

I thought managing a panic in a pandemic was extremely eye-opening. Apparently, people don't listen to anyone when they are in a panic. Not even the government. In my opinion, if you have nothing to work with or no one to turn to, you listen to authority. I believe when the government pushes out the message, the public should listen to it. I think if we all focus on managing panic in a pandemic we can overcome a horrible situation.

I organized a philanthropy with my fraternity that worked to raise money and food for a local food bank. It is an annual event that benefits Feeding America, an organization that works to eradicate food insecurities in America.
