ECONOMIC DOWN-TURN

THE RISE IN FOOD PRICES.

THE RECESSION WOULD SHRIVELED THE INCOME OF MILLIONS. IT WILL PUSH UP THE PRICES OF FOOD,PETROL,MEDICAL AID,SCHOOL FEES,RENT AND OTHER RELATED ESSENTIAL NEEDS AND WANTS.

BECAUSE OF THE SHIFT IN ECONOMY BY 2020, 'DOWNWARDS', MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WOULD DEMAND LOANS TO MAKE A LIVING. THE RESERVE BANK WOULD RAISE THE REPO RATE TO MEET THE HIGH…

The Young Spenders.

I think the biggest change in relation to how we see and treat money is its increased transferable-ness and accessability by younger people. With money coming into the hands of younger and younger people, our economy as a wh*** has become more vunerable because the younger spenders are those spenders that spend it on 'wants' - rather on 'needs'.

Increased mobile phone use is generally not for need. It seems nowadays it is…

LEARN5: Resource based economies

The term and meaning of a Resource-Based Economy was originated by Jacque Fresco. It is a system in which all goods and services are available without the use of money, credits, barter or any other system of debt or servitude. All resources become the common heritage…

The Living Economy - using the currency of the real world

Biomimicry!

In solving problems that one individual or species is having, use the solutions that another individual or species has already come up with.

It works.

It works even for complicated things like economics.

In fact, it works even better for complicated things like economics, because nature is the most experienced systems engineer in our universe.

And while it might not immediately sound easy to use… Continue

Peer to Peer Lending

I didn't do it this week, but I recently got involved in a peer-to-peer lending site called lendingclub.com. You can lend or borrow, and it's done completely without banks. As a borrower, I can borrow based on my income and credit situation, with an interest rate based primarily on my credit score, and the lenders are people just like me who want to support the people taking out the loans, and make a few bucks doing it. You can lend in 50$ increments, so if you had 500$ to invest, you could… Continue

From Leader Board to Leader Cloud

Have you seen the new Leader Cloud yet? It is pretty neat!

This page is not linked to from the main page yet, but we are a few people who are monitoring the site, and this popped up on our radar. It looks interesting, and yet not fully formed. More features are probably in the works (I have seen screenshots of other implementations, but those I will not share here)

There are several…

What has value?

When you talk about money, as has been stated before, you talk about something that has value because people give it value. It's important to understand that currencies exist in part because of that psychological value, and cannot exist without it. So, in a hypothetical currency crisis where the dollar becomes nearly worthless, what has value?

I've asked myself this to try to intelligently place myself on the right side of the line that is destroying the middle class here in America.… Continue

The Blues

So, I hear a lot of people on Urgent Evoke is suffering from The Blues. Disappointed in the site, maybe.

First of all, this is normal.

It is normal in a cycle of events to have a period of critical a****sment of a site. To maybe realize that "Oh, I have spent so much time on this site/game that i have neglected other things".

Evoke is suffering from a mid-life crisis. Week 5 is here.

Right people in the team

Listen to the right people - that's most essential. We can reasonably extend this principle to every task and every problem.

In fact, we have only three strategies available:

1. Act based on insight. Obviously, worst choice. Until you have very broad expirience in problem area, we should not trust our insights - unless you find some right people and they'll confirm that you are right.

2. Study all…

So I Cheated.

At first I was stumped; so I did what anyone called Amber Sofia would do.

I cheated.

Well... Kinda?

See, I have travelled a lot. I have used so many different currencies it's not funny. I have haggled with dirhams in Dubai, donated Australian dollars to charities, and bought bread with euros.

So I was running out of currencies to…

Agriculture Issues in General

I have the problem to view some things as racional and others as not. The racional things should be easy to solve, because the reason should be enought. In my opinion, most of the issues concerning agriculture are problems but problems with reasonable solutions.

I can't explicit a solution to a concrete problem but I can try to write a few steps for each person solve it.

1.Identify the problem,

-Human Factors:

2. Identify the Company/Person who benifts with the… Continue

Fun in the Park with Cryptosporidium

This idea is a little rough, so please be kind, haha.

For World Water Day 2020, I am imagining having a costume contest. In each participating city, preferably near a public waterfront of some kind, people come dressed as their favorite water-borne pathogen. The contest could have several categories, such as "best overall costume", "best protozoa", etc. I would imagine this would be a good but not too serious way to educate people as to just how many water-borne diseases are out there… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
