A crash course in changing the world.
The hero i have choosen is Ben Rattray, the founder of www.change.org. I chose Ben because i found his project (change.org) very inspirable. Change.org empowers people to create real change in their communities, cities, or even countries. People from all over the world can start campaigns on Change.org to fight for issues they care about. The Change.org team works to mobilize people to help them win. We all know that many people can easily make a…

In 2022 I'll be helping to change the world providing new technologies that are useful and useable for everybody in the world. I'm thinking of technologies that helps people to interact with others to create a worldwide peaceful community. The internet is a great start towards this, but i feel like theres a lot more potential in it. More communication and education can really make this world a better and more peaceful place. Modern technologies have the abilities to make this happen. Working…

In 2020, I will lead a software development team in Germany. In the past years, I will have met many people, which I will contact to help solving the Tokyo food crisis. Together we try to find unused potential in the actually food supply chain. In Software development, you are familiar with time pressure and with finding solutions that work. Therefore, we will try to find a quick solution that helps to prevent this food crisis or to lower its consequences. After that, we will look in what…

At first, I want to say that there are not really 33 secrets in this text most of them mention the same things and are repeated from the various authors. Moreover, they are not really secret. I have heard most of them before and they apply to every region and problem just the environment changes.
Nevertheless, my favorite Point is “understand “.
Ethan Zuckerman said “Don’t fight culture”, Amy Smith said “Listen to the right people.”, and Paul Polak said “talk to…

Social innovators are those people that don’t wait for someone else to change the world. They take direct action, tackle the toughest problems, they create solutions that people can use, new ideas (products, services and models) that simultaneously meet social needs (more effectively than alternatives) and create new social relationships or collaborations. In other words they are innovations that are both good for society and enhance society’s capacity to act.
One of my favorite secret…

i think what ever we eat has to be healthy and also consume a limited amount of food per person in order to think for those who don't have the ability to eat what we eat. Try helping those who are in need of help regading food in that manner we can do more in the community we are living in

i really like the Secret: If you want to make something 10 times cheaper, remove 90 percent of the material.
I like this secret because through my life I have seen that trying to get a deal on something isn't always a "deal." Usually there is a reason it is so much cheaper. Although it is great to research to find the best price on something, going overboard might get you in trouble

He changed the world once with his software “Windows”. Now he tries it with his foundation “Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation“(http://www.gatesfoundation.org), which is the largest charitable foundation in the world, again. In 2022 I will have a satisfying job in Germany which allows me to work for a better cooperation of German and Chinese markets. Hopefully I can fully use my potential of being a Chinese to build up a communication bridge between China and Germany. Based on my job I want to travel around the world and meet new cultures and friendly people from other countries. Hopefully I can live with my husband, two children and parents in the same city and do a lot of things together. When the food crisis…

It was not easy to choose only one secret, due to the fact that so many of them are important.
Most important for me is the secret "talk to the people who have the problem – and LISTEN to what they have to say".
In my opinion, it is essential to know the problem, which we want to solve because it is very difficult to help people in need if the circ**stances are unclear. It is important to talk about the problems otherwise no one will know that they even…

I think „ Don’t fight culture“ is a very important argument for social innovators. But it is also a barrier for radical innovations. In companies you will find often a problem called "not invented here syndrome". It says that the employees don’t accept the product from another company because they think that other companies can’t make equal good products as they do. The key to success for a social innovator is to understand the people (their needs, hopes and fears…), their culture (how they…

The hero I decided to follow is Arvind Gupta, an Indian toy inventor and populariser of science. I chose him because I am very impressed by the work he is doing.
He is currently working at the Children's Science Centre. His enthusiasm for teaching children about science using self-created toys using locally available materials, usually trash, is amazing and inspirable. I visitedhis wonderful website and found the long list…

The current revolution in design for developing countries is the notion of co-creation, of teaching the skills necessary to create the solution,
rather than simply providing the solution. By involving the community throughout the design process, you can help equip people to innovate and contribute to the evolution of the product. Furthermore, they acquire the skills needed to create solutions to a much wider variety of problems. They are empowered.
I like this approach very much.…

I agree with some of my predecessors who selected the secret: "Provide skills, not just finished technologies".
I take the view that it is more important to give affected persons the necessary knowledge rather than to present a fait accompli. Without self-sufficient supply these people are trapped in a dependency from which they can not deliver (vicious circle). Furthermore, without the necessary knowledge is not possible for them to use the given goods in a productive and sustainable…

..when Alchemy calls me I will be living in a troubeled world. Europe will be facing a severe economic crises caused by the instability of the common currency. With the breakdown of Greece in 2013 and the economic collaps of Italy and Spain in 2015 the dream of the common european currency finally died in 2016 when four european countries left the Eurozone for their own good and three more followed soon. The remaining countries are struggeling to protect their economy from the catastrophic…
