Use what you have

My favorite secret is "What you have matters more than what you lack". When I'm thinking about what I don't have (e.g. wishing I could win the lottery), I'm wasting the time and resources I do have. Instead of buying all new clothes, I buy some used ones, or revamp old ones I already have. It makes me appreciate the new ones even more. I also save Coke bottle caps to get free stuff; I finish old craft projects before starting new ones. I reuse a section of paper towel to within an inch of…

500.000 children suffer from hunger in Germany

In Germany, 500.000 children suffer from hunger, recording to "Welt Online" (http://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article13660640/Halbe-Million-Kinder-in-Deutschland-leiden-Hunger.html).

I think it is a fact which I very hard to stand. In Germany, overproduction of food is a massive problem as well. link:…

I will be happy to help people in Afrika really!!! Therefore I would like to follow the people who that make it even, for example I'm talking about the stars. The singer Madonna takes an active part in action to improve the life in Africa. Madonna wanted to help poor Africans. She adopted two children in Malawi and founded a charity.

According to Spiegel.de

I need to admit that in my hometown (Nuremberg, Germany) you do not see very much homeless people or people suffering hunger. Compared to other cities or countries you hardly see people on the street asking you for money or anything. This is why Germans going to other countries or continents are always very shocked by the poverty they face there.

Therefore I think there must be something done to show people how much they have and how little other people in the world have. To accieve…

What am I going to eat on March 10, 2020 ?

On March 10, 2020, I´m coming home from my work in the evening and I´m feeling really good about what I´ve done today, because I worked with some of the most creative people I know on some problems most of us care about.

My wife and my children are already sitting on the table waiting for me to join them, so that we can have a nice meal together, talking about the day and just having a good time.

In 2020 I might be a vegetarian, because I´m getting sick of the way we treat animals…

Food security in the region of Hannover

There are all companies, organizations and agencies that are located in the city, must to follow suit to establish the food security in the region of Hanover. The contribution of the "office" organizations could contribute to multi reducing CO2 emissions, for example by promoting the use of public transport with so-called job ticket (for example Nord LB with about 6,500 employees use this concept) or by using fuel-efficient cars or even reduction of business travel, which will be replaced by…

Mission 2

I've just got home from teaching a swimming class how to swim with clothes and shoes on. I sit down at the dinner table with my flatmate Maxine after we have just cooked some chicken and noodle soup with some crusty bread. Its a delicious meal that doesn't cost much, great for me! We sit at the table, eat and talk about our day before we clean up and watch some TV.

MY HERO

I chose Richard Turere as my hero. I think he uses our most powerful weapon: creativity. I admire how he uses the stuff he have, with no other resource. I also admire how, without having books to learn, he could make out a invetion like this. Richard is a example that everything, with a little bit of imagination, is possible.

LEARN2 - Hannöversche Tafel

I live in Hanover, and here there is the relief organization "Hannöversche Tafel". This organization was founded in 1999 and from the district court recognized as a charity. A few months after its founding, it has been a member of the "Bundesverband Deutsche Tafel e. V.". Meanwhile, the organization has over 200 associate members. The main task of the organization is to collect food from supermarkets, bakeries and catering kitchens and then distribute it to people. Here some…

Social Innovation

The tips for innovation in Africa from Ethan Zuckerman, Amy Smith and Paul Polak seem to be useful to understand what it means to be a social innovator. Socal innovation describes innovations, which have direct impact on social problems and conflicts. In this context my favorite secret is "Provide skills, not just finished technologies". To improve the economic and social situation in most of the african countries in the long term they need to be able to handle their problems and conflicts…

LEARN1 - Don’t fight culture

2. Don’t fight culture!

This is the most underestimated and most important thing to me.

I mean, we're not trying to change the people living in miserable circ**stances, we are trying to change the circ**stances.

I never want someone to feel humiliated by my actions even though I take them to help. There should be more than that. This help should unfold on the base of a relationship, face-to-face that suggests the people, I may be luckier than you are, but I am not better…

The future of money

I belive the way to go lies in artwork money with artists painting money to give it value such as one painting for one chicken ECT... Also other leaders and big companys around the world also beleive that it is the way to go with companys from Korea and the U.S donating huge amounts for this to really take off as the new internatonial currancy.

You want to be a hero?

In my opinion, a group of people achieve more than an individual. So I think the wh*** social-oriented organizations - whether for children, sick people or refugees - are the heroes of our time. Thanks to such organizations, anyone can become a hero. Whether through financial support or by, for example, registering at a donor database.

I am personally for 1.5 years registered in the bone marrow donation (…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
