"What you have matters more than what you lack (If you’ve got a bicycle, consider what you can build based on that, rather than worrying about not having a car, a truck, a metal shop.)"
I dug the page of social-innovation "secrets", and selected Rule 6 of Ethan Zuckerman's 'Innovating from Constraint', to blog upon. Attention is PAID, to yer assets, daddy-o! (I don't always locute in beatnik slangs, but it captures the musing enthusiast's sense; dig?) Now, this admonition about…

All of us must have had the experience of sitting in front of our grandparents, listening to them telling us about their wisdom and knowledge they learnt from their lives, listening, as they pass down the knowledge to us that we won’t forget. As time goes by when it’s my turn to pass on our knowledge, I will make sure our next generation won’t forget about them.
I will tell them the stories of our ancestors and the history of human. Humans have created a strong and stable society we have…

In nowadays, where life is surrounded with numerous sciences, people are beginning to lose the wisdom of the expertise their ancestors have gained in life experiences, and may even find those wisdoms silly or somewhat “useless in life.” Yet, we do not realize that a lot of knowledge we learn in school or find in textbooks is the gifts our ancestors left for us----their wisdom, their expertise.
Thousands of years ago when science isn’t available, people already had the knowledge of…

I want to pass on calligraphy to the younger generations. Calligraphy has been passed from China for a long time, it is a great work of art and has different beautiful forms of character; I think we should keep passing this traditional art. And, writing calligraphy is good for our body. According to my calligraphy teacher said, it can make our body healthy. People who write calligraphy usually live longer than those who don’t write calligraphy. Why? As we know people who always get angry will…

I think Ushahidi is like Google map but is a little better than Google Map. You can use it to know how to go to the place you want to go. If you meet something you like but you don’t know how to know more information about it, using Ushahidi, you will certainly find what you really want. It can make our life more convenient. Actually we can invent a sort of machine with Ushahidi. That would be great! You don’t have to buy a computer and use Ushahidi~
We can work on the internet and hand in…

I think people in Massai are wise. We have to use new technology to forecast the weather, but they just only need to observe the stars. It let me think of our ancestors observed the weather and made the Lunar calendar. People in the old days are really smart. Instead of destroyed the environment to make their lives better, they follow the nature rules and still lived a comfortable life. Why don’t we keep this tradition to remain a balance between human and nature?

Ushahidi is an useful tool. But besides using it to know where the disaster is in Africa, maybe we can develop some other function. During lunch time or dinner time, there are usually lots of peoples at the restaurant. We get to the restaurant, but there is no seat! We are hungry and frustrated. However, we have no choice but to go back home. But, if we use Ushahidi, thing may change. The owner of the restaurant sends out message when his restaurant is already full of people. The circle will…

Map now has more connect with our`s life. Now, there is a type of map called ushahidi. This type of map has been used more often now. So, I think Taiwan need to use it more combine with our life. But how? We can integrate with the traffic. People can put what the traffic likes at once. We also can integrate with the place that people can spend there free time. Like, if there is a great place to visite, then some people can write some messages on the map. So that, more and more people can visit…

By using Ushahidi, drivers can know the traffic very well. They will know where traffic is blocking now, and chose the best way to go to the place where they want to go.
We can also prevent people from injury when the disasters happen by using Ushahidi. We can know where is happening calamity at once and can avoid going to the places where are dangerous. It will be very convenient and helpful if we use Ushahidi well.

I think Ushahidi is useful and convenient. If we can use it in Taiwan , it will be really cool. We can combine Ushahidi with teastands , restaurants, special sales, festivals and so on. I believe that it can make our lives more convenient. I think Ushahidi can add other functions. Maybe it can show how many cockroaches, mosquitoes, mice are there in one place. Then we can kill them or catch them. Many fantastic… Continue

When I am 100 years old, I want to pass on the ancient stories to the younger generation. They will realize why we have to celebrate many festivals.
Such as moon festival, there is a touching story behind it. Once upon a time, there was a bad emperor. He had tried many ways to get the medicine which could make you live forever. His wife didn’t want to see her husband use that to do bad things, so she took the medicine instead. She flew to the moon and lived alone there after taking it.…

We can use Ushahidi at school to detect teachers. It must be cool if we could know when teachers will appear. We can be cautious and not do bad things

If we can have Ushahidi in Taiwan, I want it to be used in restaurants and traffic. If we can develop a program which can automatically sign the buses’ arriving time on the map, it will be easier for people to know when to go to the bus stops and how long you’ll have to wait. And once we tag messages on the map about restaurants, then we don’t have to worry that we will have a bad and expensive meal.

When can we use Ushahidi? We can use it at anytime. For example, if you want to go shopping at department stores, you can use Ushahidi to find out which department store has less people. There is another idea. When you are in a hurry, you can use Ushahidi to see which road has a bad traffic. Then, you can drive different road to avoid the traffic. I think Ushahidi can make our world more convenient.

Festival is coming. There are so many people going to the field to watch beautiful lanterns. Most of the MAT stations and bus stops are full of people. What's the best way to get to the field? Just check the Ushahidi! Ushahidi will investigate the best way and show you. You don't have to worry about the traffic or the parking lot!

I think Ushahidi is very useful. If you want to go somewhere, you can use it to see the traffic condition. And you can go there in the shortest time, so you don't have to waste too much time on traffic!

Having Researched Food security issues in my state of California, the results are startling.
California is a major agricultural producer for the country, yet we are dealing with a tremendous amount of hunger within our own borders. A recent study by UCLA revealed that about 2.2 million adults with low income cannot always afford to put food on the table. If this is occuring in California, how much more dire must the situation be in other parts of the world?
Current policy…

The storyline of season two would be facing terrorist attacks and all the problems it brings. Reflecting on 9/11, the shortage of food, water, shelter and the dealing of death were major concerns that the community had to face. The comic stripo would should the setting while the dialogue would express the dire need of a safety blanket for the people, the government and the united states.

The evoke network is a simulated "game" but at the same time it is far from it. The evoke game allows you to virtually adress the global problems that we face today. It lets us explosre, learn and act upon our thoughts and ideas. Also, it requires us to imagine and think about the future of our world. This game is a manifestation of ideas that will be aor are required in real life.

for the Evoke project, i think in season two, it will help if there would be a chat option. This would allow for direct collaboration in the moment, as ideas are evolving in your head. People might find connections with each other and create even a bigger impact than previously thoguth.
