Crisis Imagine

What i will ask the group of people to do to fight the flu pandemic is to distribute medicine and vaccines to the more remote places of the world. With todays technology we have the resources to wuicjly distribute materials, we just need the manpower to do so.

Crisis Leanr

The piece of insight that i found most surprising and important was taking precautions. Indegenous Imagine

When i will be 100 years old, the secret that i will pass on is how to grow a garden. I feel that this skill will get lost as the years progress and that will cause society to diminish. people need to learn how to grow gardens to know how to provde themselves with food and how to get food without harming the environment.

Indigenous Learn

I found out some indigenous knowledge from a case study in Botswana; fisheries. The community has a fishing "business" set up that feeds the wh*** community.

Resilience Imagine

My new city will have the ultimate survival plan. Getting information out to the poeple will be quicker and more effecient than ever. In case disaster does strike, there will be plenty of ways for survival. First being all the hosues will be supplied with extra food, water, and blankets in a worst case scenario. Also, there will be multiple ways to get out of the city; trains, cars, airplanes, etc will be made more efficient to not cause a traffic jam.

Resilience Act

This week i investigated our towns resileince plans against times of crisis. What i found and actually experienced on a small scale were media warnings. I feel that our community does an exceptional job at getting the word out; all TV networks blared warnings for a hurricane. The radiostations focused on the weather and provided ways to stay safe. Our community does a very good job at providing the initial response that people look for in times of confusion.

Crisis Learn

A crisis that my community might face in the future would be natural disasters like floods, hurricanes or tornadoes. The information that we would need to track is what areas are going to be affected and the impact that they would make. Currently, we are able to do this and spread this info to listeners of radio or people watching TV. Other tehcnology, however, would be a lot more helpful to quickly get the word out to all the other people so they could get to safety faster.

Women Imagine

The way that women in 2020 will be empowered is by providing all women across the globe an equal opportunity to play and coach sports. Currently, the project that teaches women in yuganda how to coach soccer is only a small step towards a big transformation. In 2020, this practice will not be frowned down upon and the women wil have an equal treatment and opportunities in the sports world.

Women Act

The way that I empowered women in my community is by talking to little girls about their strength in our community. In a group called "Peer Leaders," we go to younger kids and talk to them about various topics. School, friends, responsibility, the transition to the next grade are topics we cover very often but female rights and power are something we only started to talk about recently. We gave the girls examples of powerful women in our community and the changes they have made. We emphasize… Continue

Women Learn

The way that women are being empowered is by giving them more rights and freedoms all around the world. Along with them comes the right to feel safe and be protected under the law. In libya, women are being protected and more thouroughly is the issue of rape and sexual violence examined.

Money Imagine

A new bank opened, with a new system of saving. People can invest a very minimal amount of money and have it grow quicklier than a regular savings account.

This will help the lower class of people who dont have the money to start a big investment. This will allow them to slowly increase their funds to get out of the… Continue

Money Act

The new system of currency that I used went back to the roots of society. People used to trade food and supplies and we slowly evolved to the idea of money. Last week, I exchanged, although simple, helping my sister with her homework for her service of doing the laundry that week. It may seem like a simple exhchange between kids, but it shows how sosciety used to function.

Money Learn

The idea that will change the future of money, is micro-savings. So many people live everyday on so little money and they have a hard time in saving for the future. Micro-savings allow people to save a very minimal amount of money, but have a big outcome. The money would compile into a big fund that will later be redistributed after growing a percent increase.

Water Imagine

The event would be waterless. This would be a new idea, but it would also be fun. Many may ask well how will be quench our thirst, wash our hands, etc? The answer lies in ourselves; what are we willing to sacrafice to save our global water supply for one day? No direct water will be used; we will use hand sanatizer, and recycled water to make our event happen. There will be educational games, music and fun. As well as being enjoyable, this even will focus on teaching our community the… Continue

Water Act

The way that I joined forces with an innovator is that we continued the Water4Water effort in our high school. The project was very successful, people bought water, and we matched the amount and sent our earnings to those less fortunate, in need of clean water. We know that our efforts made an impact and we took the first step of helping in our community. As time goes by, this crisis will be made more popular, and people will make an even bigger effort to help

water Learn

The most interesting water supply idea that i found and that Farmington High School participates in is Water4Water. This project focuses on the fortunate people to buy water, which they do anyhow, and then for every bottle of water bought, an area in the world without clean water recieves it. Although this idea is not breakthrough, it is an easy way for everyone to have an impact in the world and help supply clean water to our global community.

Ushahidi

The government could use the Ushahidi in a very useful way as well. During the summer, a lot of people like to go swimming in the rivers or streams, yet lots of them drowned due to whirl pools or the lack of energy. And as for traffic problems, lots of people died of car accidents each year. To prevent these tragedies from repeating themselves, the government could get more police officers to patrol these places where the most accidents happen to stop these things from happening.

It… Continue

Angel

Below is a kind of situation in our real life: You have a important meeting with your manager, but you have only twenty minutes and you are still home. How can you solve this problem? You can use Ushahidi to find about traffic information. For example, which is the shortest, or which road has traffic problem. Then we can avoid worse road and get on better one. By using this way, you may not to be late.

Maasai people + energy

African can understand the changing of the environment by looking stars or planets. But people in modern city can’t do that. We only can use the computers to figure out. If someday energy runs out, our lives will be a mess. So we should learn some traditional ways instead of technology. After all, who knows when the sources will run out. But, on thing is for sure, natural cycle still has it’s rule

21 century is full of crisis. We have a food crisis, a environment crisis… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
