To celebrate one of my favorite holidays, Easter, I plan to hold the entire celebration only during the daytime, when it is light outside. Luckily, during the time of the year that Easter usually takes place, the weather is usually very nice and it is very sunny and lively outside. Also, I plan to only cook foods that don't require too much electricity and energy usage such as salads and sandwiches and everything that must be eaten warm can be made on a grill that is heated by natural fire…

IDRC, the International Development Research Center, whose goal is "to build healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous societies," thinks that the root of finding a solution to the water crisis is to provide the adequate and precise information on the crisis so that those looking for a solution are able to find a more accurate one, for solutions based on Northern ideas have been created without a clear understanding of the crisis.
The IDRC has come with the idea of creating research…

Energy Quest is a user friendly website that anyone is able to access. This organization is based in my state of residence, California, and recognizes how much energy is used in an average household's everyday life, and is committed to conserving as much energy and electricity as possible. Their website provides a list of several ways an average human being can conserve energy as well as an interactive "room" that exemplifies these practices.

I have found out that in the San Francisco Bay Area, my area of residence, there are over half a million people who are victims of hunger, 38% of this number are children.
ABC7, Bay Area, has started a fight against hunger and have opened banks at every Safeway location. Everyone is welcome to donate non-perishable foods to this location.

I usually enjoy making my parent's meal for their lunch at work, I feel that it's a way to heighten my "cooking skills." My dad recently mentioned that there are some people who don't bring their own lunch, or are unable to purchase food during their lunch break due to lack of time and/or money. I began adding extra servings to my dad's lunch so that he is able to share with those who don't have their own food. My dad mentioned this to some of his other co-workers, who began doing the same…

On March 10, 2020 I will be 30 years old, going on 31. Hopefully, by then, I will have my Master's degree in whatever it is I decide to take up in Grad-School. I want to be married with at least one child by this time and to own a house in the Bay Area.
As far as what I am eating for dinner that night, I hope that it is something healthy yet inexpensive, because I feel like just to eat healthily in this present day society that I live in is becoming a bit pricey. I feel that obesity in…

In my town, Wayne, NJ, and surrounding towns face terrible flooding caused by the Passaic River Basin and Pompton River. While these floods are not as catastrophic as those in southern United States, they do millions dollars in damage. Residences are forced out of their homes and having to pay for damaged items ( those who don't have flood insurance). Floods are devastating no matter where they are, and they take a deep financial toll on people. Flooding hasn't stopped for many years, and I…

For university I wrote a paper about the Evoke network in German (posted down below). For the guys that dont speak German I note the following key points out of my paper here in English.
Key points:
- Already Evoke is a great concept to bring people to solve social problems
- Bring more activity to the Evoke network. Instead of showing the Evidence Log, show the an activity index of friends and other players (who posted where, who solved which problem, who posted…

I took part in EVOKE as part of a project for my academic studies. Because of this my answers for this Mission will differ from the ones of the Mission. But as the work was done anyway I think it is ok to share what I have written. Maybe it will do something good. We were given eight questions, which I will show in the following. The questions were answered in German, so I will give you a short abstract of my answers in headwords.
1. What positive experience have you made while…

In the tenth week of EVOKE, I write about the experiences I had during the missions. Because I played EVOKE within tuitional seminar, the answered questions differ from the original LEARN questions in this mission. But as you will see, the main topics are the same.
Which positive experiences did you gain?
In some weeks, I entered unknown territory, because I have never dealt with some topics before. I had to investigate more time than in other weeks to perform…

WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?
There is need for communication between the West and the Islamic world. Evoke could help to understand each other better. Evoke could abolish prejudice. Evoke could influence on not Evoke…

I'll admit, when it comes to money and economy, I get tangled up in the technical jargon that probably isn't even that technical. If the percentages aren't given in detailed graphs, there's a good chance that I'll get lost somewhere. My experience with finances pretty much extends just to seeing how many books I can buy and how many months so much money will last for horseback riding.
So the fact that I'm really interested in microfinance shocks me. But alas, there it is. Just how it…

WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?
In my opinion, could be problems such as war, political and religious persecution and uncertainty accuracy get discussed.Interesting would be also current specic issues such as the dictatorship and the war in Libya and not just general problems of the world such as hunger, the cultivation of food etc...
WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE… Continue

The Evoke network in 2021 works as follow:
There are still missions to play but additionally the community can decide what problem they want to solve next. So it does not have a fixed plan to play but more flexibility to react on imminent problems in the world.
And you stay in direct contact to the rest of the community. You see the contribution (messages, blogs, comments, votings and ratings) of your friends on your personal "EVOKE homepage". So you can track progress on your…

So gut es ist, sich den guten Ratschlägen zu unterwerfen, so gefährlich ist es, sich den guten Ratgebern zu unterwerfen. – Bertholt Brecht

Ironically enough Seattle today is hosting a walk for water event for all ages. On the website "Carry 5 Walking for Water" there are a bunch of little kids participating in this event, which I think is awesome! When it comes to learning anything starting young is always better, that way these kids will be aware of the water crisis around the world for the rest of their lives. This walk supports Honduras, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, and India. During the walk you are supposed to carry 5 gallons of…

I sadly couldn't create a dark site, for both links on how to make one, without html experience, are broken. I searched for another tutorial, but couldn't seem to find one anywhere. Nonetheless I found a website that talks about them and it is something I would be interested to do in the future.…

The goals of Evoke are the same as before, but they have added obesity and diabetes. A chat room, forum and evoke staff help page have been added to address problems and brainstorm ideas. People who post one sentence posts and put no effort into them are asked to either put work in or leave. Profanity is also not allowed. This are now in a separate web page for the ethics of an Evoke agent. Evoke has hired a writer to come up with a new story line that is more captivating and quest runes,…
