For my mission I was asked to be on a woman’s watch; which while being on the watch I would investigate the News story in regard to the progress of women. The news story I chose was about Afghan police force which have women who have been a part of the force for over 25 years. The second thing that I was asked to do was to perform the act of currency. For my act of paying it forward I worked for a co-worker on my day off because he had injured his foot and no one wanted to cover his shift.

pay it forward

For My Mission I was asked to help invent money for the future. In response to my mission I thought it would be beneficial is the world created a system that was built on paying it forward. By paying it forward each person would get paid for a selfless act of kindness that would in turn create a domino effect of kindness. Although this idea was already implemented in the move Pay it forward, I feel that this would be a form of currency that would never run out and would ultimately unite the… Continue

I live in Alameda CA which is a hop, skip and a jump from Oakland CA. In just driving to the freeway from Alameda I always see homeless people asking for money or begging for the purchase of something to eat. When I see homeless people it rips me apart inside and makes me so sad but it also makes me extremely grateful for the lifestyle that I have been given by my parents and how lucky I am to have a home and food. I try and do my part my giving a couple dollars to a homeless person when I see… Continue

ACT 1

The hero that I decided to follow is Blake Mycoskie who is the founder of the company Toms Shoes. Mycoskie began this company in 2006 and over the past couple years the company has become a huge success. Toms Shoes is a company where when a consumer buys a pair of Toms Shoes a child will go to a child in need. They also give the child a new pair of shoes every month as well. The shoes are very lightweight and are extremely comfortable and they are cute. I personally found out about the company… Continue

Hello All :)
After reading the 33 secrets of social innovation this secret stuck out to me the most. " innovation (often) comes from constraint (If you’ve got very few resources, you’re forced to be very creative in using and reusing them.)" Without creativity we truly have nothing. Creativity I believe is one of the most important aspects to have especially if one day we come across these serious life threatening problems. Creativity is key in our world.

Spread The Word

For any kind of city, the general resilience plan always sticks - for California cities, such as San Francisco, and Ojai, the general resilience plan reflects on the fact that Californian cities are always under security because of the threat of earthquakes. Since the threat of earthquakes exist, we must prepare.

Ideally, the resilience plan is usually the same now, besides having reinforced structures, an emergency supply and disaster response team should always be put in place. My… Continue

A Day Without Water

I would create a worldwide movement to celebrate one day called "A Day Without Water." People would be instructed to not use any water for the day, other than the daily amount needed to survive per body weight. This would include, no washing the lawn, no showering, no brushing teeth, no flushing toilets, no washing hands under the faucet, no doing dishes, etc. This day would just remind people just how much water is being used. The day would a challenge to those who take water for granted and… Continue

Hippo

The Hippo Water roller reduces suffering, empowers women and children, and saves time and energy. This simple invention is a product that is helping over 200,00 people around the world to gather their daily water from lakes and rivers.

I would like to make this product better by installing filters inside the containers. While transporting the water, it could… Continue

The Living Machine

I really like the ideas from the company that created the "Living Machine." Worrell Water Technologies did not create the technology for this clean water solution, nature did-- but they have, however, found a way to structure wastewater treatment centers by using creative landscaping for indoors and outdoors. They are built according to the clients needs, and tailored to fit the available space. These installments are aesthetically pleasing, and clean water for the use in toilet flushing,… Continue

At 100

In the year 2053, I will be 100 years old.

My wisdom to pass on to young people is for children to listen to their parents - always. Young people have this thing now where many hate their parents, don't want to listen to their wisdom and follow the wrong crowds - those parents gave warnings about. This has to stop at some point. Parents are to be cherished - no matter what your relationship; if bad, it should be healed -- at least before one of you closes their eyes for the last… Continue

Indigenoous Knowledge - Art

No photo is provided.

The city of Richmond is home to over 30 works of public art. With a tradition begun in the 1940s, the City has steadily acquired a unique collection of artwork, ranging from paintings and sculpture to landmark murals and artist-designed community gardens. In 1997, the Richmond City Council, recognizing the cultural, aesthetic, and economic benefits that the arts bring to a community, adopted a "Percent for Art" resolution, which sets aside 1.5% of eligible… Continue

I have a bike and i sometimes ride with a local club around the town. They sometimes set up trade events where people can swap and trade parts. This is perfect because people do not need money to make their bike how they want it. It is like when people trade skilled services to one another, one person offers his skills in exchange for a services from another person with different skills. It shows you do no need money to get into a certain hobby because you could always trade for the things you… Continue

I think money should be digital like how credit cards work. It would eliminate the need for a paper currency and would keep all money in one central place. It should also be secure by DNA so no one can steal anyone's money. Smart phones are starting to have apps that let you scan credit cards on the screen which i feel is a genius idea.

Becoming a mother is one of the most wonderful experiences a woman can endure and the process of childbirth, especially with so many processes over the years, are also exciting and educational.

Moreso in the United States, for example, women will either have a baby vaginally or through a C-section, heal for 1-4 days in a hospital, go home, take it easy, eat a healthy diet and that's it (also they are to take it easy for however long recommended). In other countries, that process is… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
