Game1: Collaboration

My score is not so hot on reaching out to others, as always. Too often I am content to plod on alone.

Please let it be known I did try to increase my superpower of collaboration

I think local insight is one of the most important powers, of course all of the powers are useful, I belive that you cannot do much without knowing your market. As you can see if you look at my post LEARN 1

Game1 Vision, Thoughts on Archimedes and moving the world

Archimedes is recognized as a scientist, philosopher, mathemetician, and innovator of his times. While he did not invent the lever, his work with levers is said to have prompted his famous observation: "Give me a place to stand, and I will move the World!"

With the EVOKE network giving us a place to stand, maybe we can all find some way to move the world, to make changes for the better. Everyone can find a place and a fulcrum for their knowledge and talents, and who knows what we can…

THE GAME

Spark:

for me, this is about a person who may not be a genius, or have billions of dollars, but just has an idea, the spark. this one idea can spread (just like a spark on a piece of paper), until it turns into a much bigger thing, and can end up helping so many people, EVEN IF THE ORIGINAL PERSON CAN'T GET IT MUCH FARTHER

this is for GAME1, a user-created evoke.

Collaboration
One example of collaboration that impressed me lately was one between Kalamazoo College and Kalamazoo County (Both in MIchigan) around the issue of food accessibility. The students at the college did the research and put it together on the county web-site. The end result will be an active database of not only where fresh food is located in the county, but also identifies food deserts and food rich areas of the county. Both of these are important as new businesses and…

Game1: Courage

Without a measure of courage social innovation is impossible, even given the other 'powers'.
How else do we challenge the status-quo, face opposing, even abhorrent ideas without flinching, and overcome financial and personal risk while trying to create or involve ourselves in the organizations that affect social change.
Just putting our ideas out to face criticism or sending an e-mail to encourage someone else's ideas takes something. I've had a hard enough time trying to comment…

GAME1: My fave power is Creativity

(This post is part of the GAME1: Power Evocation game - link here to find out more, and how to play!)

Creativity is probably my favorite Evoke Power - I like to think that I've been very creative all through my life. Here is an example:

When I was little, I was in the playground at school and an even younger girl walked up to me, crying. She'd dropped her bouncy-ball into a rain filled drain in… Continue

GAME1: Creativity

I believe that Creativity is the most important one of all EVOKE powers,
think about it, where would we be if there wasn't for creative minds of Edison and Tesla, or the Wright brothers who invented the airplane, DNA discovery of Francis Crick, Rosalind Franklin, James D. Watson and the other people involved in it, we wouldnt be able to heal so many diseases,
and if there wasn't for creativity we would never get to read the awesome books we all love, or watch the best movies like…

GAME1 Collaboration -

Working together to achieve what we cannot do alone.

I think a real-world example for this is The Pandora's Project: @ www.pandys.org .

Shannon, at the time, a 19 year old woman who was a survivor of sexual assault created a message board for peer support of all types of sexual violence.

She now runs the only international support organization, which has grown to include a mail library, 24 hour support chat and other fantastic… Continue

GAME1; My Favorite Power is SPARK

Spark is by far my favorite EVOKE power.

Spark to me is defined as; character, passion, belief, inspiration and boldness.

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and…

Game1: Vision

Vision - Seeing the pieces around you and how they could be put together. Holding a positive vision even in the face of setbacks.

Vision lets you keep going even when progress seems like mola****. It is what lets you communicate to others how their goals work together with yours and fit into the vision.

Vision is a picture of hope it gives it direction.

Without vision you can't…

Vision: Helping hand of humanity

Vision is an excellent candidate, I think, for this game. Vision has the power to set standards, to alter the future and to inspire self and others to accomplish great things.

"Virgin Galactic" was the vision of Sir Richard Branson back in 2004. He wanted everyone to view outer space at low costs, so he made the private space tourism company, Virgin Galactic. The space fleet on V.G. consists of 7 vessels that can carry a… Continue

GreenThumb is "the nation's largest urban gardening program", giving people in New York City the opportunity to work with local gardens. Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
