In an effort to help support LifeStraw's movement towards solving the world water crisis, I used my personal Facebook page to help spread the word about their amazing product, what it does and why. I also went and "liked" their official Facebook page so that I can stay up-to-date on their products and innovations as well as help keep others informed about these amazing products! I also look forward to actually purchasing one of these products soon as well!…

I like the work that Water for People is doing. I'm donating money to parter with this organization to bring clean water to people. Water For People helps people in developing countries improve the quality of life by supporting drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs. 783 million people don't have access to clean drinking water and 2.5 billion don't have clean facilities, and I feel like WFP understands that this is aright we shouldn't stand for. Every…

My personal water alliance will be with Gerald from my institute. We will save water by forcing people to take the coffee water also from a day before. Till now the process is as follow:
In the morning the water is dumped and replaced with new water. But from today on a sign will show people that this is not the way to do it. See picture:…

I found Himanshu Parikh who won the Tapping Local Innovation: Unclogging the Water and Sanitation Crisis in 2008 for Changemakers.org.
Here is how she describes the project:
"* Slum Networking exploits the correlation between slums and the natural riverine paths of the city to improve the environment and provide quality, gravity based, house-to-house water, sanitation,…

My contribution to the water crisis is that i wrote numerous letters with my ides on how maybe they could access water better or maybe even utilize it. I chose once again. WATERFORPEOPLE. In my letters i wrote them and said that maybe the water could be rationed maybe a bit better. Making sure every last drop is utilized, Also that maybe they could spend a bit of time creating specific spots for the local people to use the restroom so that maybe the water wont be so polluted with their own…

This week I will make a concerted effort to follow and contribute to Julie Smith of
Lifewater International who is currently in Uganda teaching water sanitation. I'm setting aside some of my lunch money as part of a "significant sacrifice."
Lifewater projects involve water location in remote areas, drilling services, building water wells that can be maintained and serviced by local communities, providing water sanitation…

My act 4 was to promote Charity Water to my network as well as this one.
In blogs like this one, I talk about what I believe makes Charity Water successful and why they should continue to be supported.
http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/be-remarkable The result of all this campaigning is that my friends and I started a fund to try and fund the drilling of a well. I don't know if it will…

Well, I contributed to the agenda of Environmental
Defense Canada a little bit by using my facebook account to spread
the word about rain-barrels in
Toronto, Ontario.
EDC is concerned, among other things, about
how green homes are. One problem is the watering of lawns and gardens
during dry… Continue

Most water in every household is used for washing dishes. My suggestion is to save water by using big bowl of water for all dishes for the first round and then clean them with second bowl of clean water. This will help to save lots of water, especially in places where water is not…

Instead of drinking from bottled water I use a water purification system from the fridge. This saves on money and also helps because plastic bottles are not being wasted. HarvestH2O.com is a great Web site to visit because they discuss ways to sustain water by using stored rain water.

One way I can help or would help would be joining the GWC group which helps people in Kenya. This group helps raise money for those in need in Africa, but specifically in Kenya. Many kids and mothers of a family have to travel miles just to get water for a day. GWC also help out with the water problems and also water treatments in Kenya. The life straw is a… Continue

When it comes to the water crisis, i looked at water 1st in Hondera The article talked about how i Hondera they dont have safe drinking water which is a major problem because if you drink dirty water you could get ch***ra. What Water first does is they show people how to make the waster safer to drink. Which seems simple enough but i think in the end has a huge impact and will save lives

Hey all,
So my act this week, by my standards, was relatively small, but I did do something, and if you live in Massachusetts, especially if you get your water from the Quabbin Reservoir, you might want to think about this as an act for you.
This week I donated the Environment Massachusetts initiative to protect the area around the Quabbin Reservoir from clear-cutting. The timber company who got permission to selectively cut trees from around the…

I have realized that I really need to start saving water. When I was washing my hands or something I always just leave the tap on for minutes. Yet, I felt really guilty when I was reading these articles about water resources in North Africa. There are 884 million people lacking of the access to safe drinking water and 2.6 billion people lacking of the adequate sanitation. I was really shocked by these statistics. Therefore, I decided to make posters about these facts in North Africa. Then I…

Being a broke college student out in the middle of nowhere, I couldn't do a wh*** lot of donating. Instead, I picked up a couple of newsletters from various organizations which work on the water crisis. I'm also contemplating doing something more both on campus and when I return home this summer. Finally, and probably most significant, I gave a presentation on the water crisis to the Maryland Collegiate Honors Council about both the severity of the crisis and a variety of possible solutions…
