A crash course in changing the world.
Oldest tree
The Candler Oak is a live oak tree, Quercus virginianus, and is thought to be one of the oldest living landmarks in our area, with a rich history that parallels the establishment of our city. This Live Oak stands just south of the corner of Drayton and E. Gaston Streets and is thought to be about 300 years old

To my children, my grandchildren and my great grandchildren
Growing is a way of life that we all should have. Taking care of your natural surroundings. Do not let nature wither around you. Protect the last of the rainforest. Eco - friendly is one of the most important things of this age as we still destroy nature wherever we walk.

Cooking with really fresh ingredients
I like cooking very much, for me it is a kind of compensation for the daily life full of stress. In my opinion this mentioned daily stress is creeping more and more into our private life. No time to recreate, no time to cook a good soup with fresh vegetables from the garden. Garden? I hope that the word “garden” is still known in 100 years!
Most of us are eating even in these years so much frozen and ready cooked food; it will be terrifying how many people will do this in the next…

My indigenious knowledge in 2087
Today I'm turning 100 and I'm the mayor of Leipzig, a city with 1 million inhabitants. I'm holding a birthday speech that is broadcasted through the local radio stations:
"Dear citizens of Leipzig, today is a great day for me. I'm turning 100 and I'm still fit and able to do my job and lead our city through the times. But as my life is going to end in some years, I want to tell you some things, that are very important to me. Please think about that and keep that in mind, because…

Sacred Places
There have been many cases of people protecting places that are important to them or people that are related to them. Places that are ancient or sacred to old tribes or groups should be protected because they are a part of our history and are actually quite important. They should not be knocked down!

My wisdom for future generations
It is the year 2088. I am 100 years old and I decide to pass on my elder's wisdom.
"Much has changed in life. Because of the clime change it is now possible to practice agriculture in the areas like in the north of the Scandinavia, Russia and Siberia. In the countries like central Africa it is impossible to live because of the heat and water deficiency. There was a great mass migration in the year 2050.
Novel Communication technologies have made possible that everyone in the…

100 years full of experience - Imagine 8
In the year 2090 i will be 100years old! It's unbelievable. The technical and medical devolopment let the people get older and older. The demographic structure is that there are more older people than young one.
My request to the younger generation is that they have to enjoy the time, where they can be easy-going. My urgent request is to enjoy the life in the nature! Our world is full of technology, but there will come one day, when everything is gonna break down. So you have also be…

IMAGINE8 - 2087
If I'm 100 years old, it will be 2087…the world will have many changes, the information age will be in more advanced stage, the consequences of climate change will be more evident and so on. The future generation, at least in industrialized countries, will live in abundance and take everything for granted and don’t think about consequences of their behavior in respect to environment.Probably they will still sit from the screen and prefer to communicate with each…

At the age of 100
At first: don't think only on your personal profit, but also to others.
Sustainability is most important at your most acts. Think about it! Think about the wh*** product lifecycle, not only about the development and use. Many products and things have a complex disposal. The damage after the use is often higher as the profit. For example: Atomic energy is a wonderful cheap produced energy. But the half-life of the material is very high. Radioactive radiation can measured after many…

2086
It's 2086 and I'm 100 years old now. Since I've probably lived a great part of my live I'll tell my grandchildren and of course everybody else to simply enjoy it. In the end it really doesn't matter if your rich or famous. What does matter is how you've spent the time you had and if you enjoyed it! Helping people that aren't a fortunate as we are in the western civilization brings joy and it helps them to enjoy their lifes. But there are also many things to do around here to help people to…

Wenn I am at the age of 100 I would like to share my personal experiences to my grandkids. It is always valuable to get to know other people, other countries and different cultures. I will teach them to always be honest and respectful to people and also to tell them to stay healthy and enjoy the life. Furthermore I would like to tell them many traditional cultures of the world.…

I will be 100 years old in the year 2088. If dementia hasn’t killed my memories I’ll pass a lot of things to my grand-grand children.
We grew up in a crazy time. The personal computer became common (I first used a computer when I was 8…in 2088 everyone is using what might be called computers at every age I think). At home we had internet access when I was 14, smartphones were common when I turned 21. So I am going to be the one who knows how everything worked before.
It may be…

In the year 2086
It’s the year 2086 and I’m a 100 years alive… Now the wh*** world is connected by IT-technologies and social media stages… When I was 20 all these technologies are innovative inventions, - today it is the normal way to communicate. Personally I often wrote and write hand-written letters, as simple as they are – today they are rare.
I would like to inspire you to use this form of communication, because it is a traditional and lovely chance to tell somebody something… You capture your…

Classic music considered indigenous knowledge
100 years ago, indigenous knowledge had another meaning than today in 2089. When we talked about indigenous knowledge, we related it to a limited geographical region, where a certain section of a population had a specific knowledge about their region or traditions of their culture that others do not have.
Nowadays, indigenous groups and knowledge are defined differently. Migration and urbanisation make it difficult to determine an indigenous group. Especially in the cities, many…

Year 2087
It is the year 2087. I celebrate my 100th Birthday. The wh*** family is present. We all sit together in the living room and I would share my knowledge, I have collected over the years. I tell them:
"Children, I am now 100 years old. To-day is perfectly normal, but back then it was a small miracle if people had reached the hundred-year target.
I have seen many things in my life. I belong to a generation that has lived through many changes!
As a small child it was for us,…

2086 museum of our past
I don’t think that I will have much more to say that I haven’t already said a hundred times. Even more, I don’t think these youngster will listen to old gramps me. These things have always be the same and I doubt this will change in the future. In addition, I try to have no secrets except from those that I‘m forced to keep because of contracts and things like that. There are so many ways to share your information with the world around you that you don’t have to hold them back until you are…

Take a breath
It's the year 2086! I remember the times from my childhood, when social interaction started to shift from personal contact to communication via technology. I want the next generations to remember that there was a time when you didn't need to answer an email in an hour, where it took a week to get an answer from some person because the letters delivery took that time. Of course new technologies have much pros and the time speedup is one in most cases, but one must not forget to take his time,…

In the Year 2087 I'am 100 years old. Many things have changed. There are so many things that will change and this is change is now running. When i focus on the food production industry, one can see the changing prozess very good. Today i was on strawberry field, i picked some berries, put them in my basket, some i put straight away in my mouth ;) It was a nice experience to crop my food by my own. I think in the Year 2089, there will be a few or no possibilities anymore to go the field, crop…

When I was 100 years I wouldn't know my neighbour
...I would remind people of a long lost community spirit. A spirit that got lost because of two factors: the development of the so-called "service culture" and the growing ignorance towards our fellow human beings.
Even though online platforms like Facebook and Twitter nowadays create a feeling of connectedness that everyone can participate in, it is not the way people used to be connected a hundred years ago. It is a superficial and selective way of connectedness. A way that allows…

My indigenous knowledge as a 100 old woman
When I am 100 years old, the world would be totally different from today. Highly urbanized, mechanized and crowded with 15 billion people living on the earth. I will tell my grand grandchildren how our generation has fought against pollutions, irrational economic development and fought for sufficient resources for later generations. I will pass down our love towards nature, animals and plants, the awareness of importance to keep the balance between economic system and ecological system.
