Managing a State of Fear.

Of the five topics, I thought managing panic was the most interesting. I liked how it touched on the importance of how much trust the public has in you. If they don't trust you then they won't follow what you're trying to say in order to prevent panic.

Another important part of managing panic is the messages you send. If you are sending messages about things people aren't concerned about, then they won't listen to what you have to say. In order to reach out and communicate with…

Season 2

For season 2 of Urgent Evoke, I would try to separate the game into learning levels. For instance, one game for elementary-aged kids, one for middle and high school, and one for college. That way, the silly stuff doesn't have to be in the college one, and the younger kids can understand it better.

I would also maybe separate the game by levels- local, national, global. Each level would get a little tougher.

The future of UE...

Agent McDaniel to Urgent Evoke, repeat, Agent McDaniel to Urgent Evoke! I commend your world-wide efforts but now, I must call you to continue your mission in Romania.

Romania's agriculture industry is in dire need of reform. The people need food but farmers are having trouble producing! The country needs innovative, sustainable ways to farm their different regions, raise healthy livestock, produce full crops, finance needed equipment and grow their economy. Romania needs…

The Future of Evoke

I had hoped that season 2 would cover topics like the protection of wildlife, the constantly increasing criminality, the hopelessness among the European youth, especially in southern Europe, and the increasing divergence of social cla**** regarding financial means, but since the season 2 of Evoke is out already and the focus of season 2 is on trash, i would like to see those topics covered in season 3.

Moreover, Urgent Evoke had some technical deficiencies, which were quite…

Change in Season 2

Evoke Season 2 should tackle with challenges in care about children. Children are defenseless.

There are a lot of problems that need to be solved from evoke agent:

about 200 million children are working on dangerous and exploitative conditions around the world(http://www.planet-wissen.de/politik_geschichte/menschenrechte/kinderarbeit/index.jsp)

about 10000 children are… Continue

LEARN10 - Mission 10: The future of EVOKE

WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

I think it's important to start changing the education in many countries. The future of a country builds upon its children. It's important to teach them moral standards and rules and not let them become corrupt politicians or political leaders. Educational concepts can be created and adapted to a certain country. It can include steps on how to make the country better and how to achieve the…

UE Manifesto

In thinking of this Quest, my first question to myself was "What is a Manifesto?" Although I use this word frequently, I was not able to provide a simple answer. Intensive research (read Wiki) indicatethat a manifesto is simply a paper written to explain what you are all about, why you believe what you believe, what your plans are, your purpose, direction and statement of life. This sounded pretty heavy to me but here goes nothing ...

Evoke Season II

Qn1: WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

Add Fun and Games for an Energetic Evoke!

THE GAME SO FAR...

I thought Urgent Evoke was great fun and a really intriguing way to learn about complex issues. I particularly like the way that the game interacts with real people and encourages real actions.

However, I think that the challenges became a little repetitious and started feeling a bit too much like "homework." Kids in California already have a ton of homework and unless this was part of a class activity, the…

Learn10

* WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

Deforestation

Loss of biodiversity

* WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?

I think Evoke could be working more at two levels. As more people become involved real world projects could accommodate Evokers for a season. Evoke could establish links with or aim to help set up local projects.

Evoke 2.0 (Learn10)

While EVOKE is an amazing initiative for next season there needs to be some serious updates.

  • Instant messaging needs to be an internal service, communication via emails is like using letters in a world with the telephone
  • File Storage - A place to keep your work in progress
  • Private blogs - If you want to promote creativity sometimes what you need is a closed door
Overall EVOKE2.0 should have a stronger focus on collaboration regardless of the… Continue

Real Time Scenarios

Evoke was great, I learned a lot, it introduced me to many new resources, and most importantly it motivated me to think that I can accomplish something bigger.

The planned scenarios were great but I would of liked to of seen an occasional spontaneous real time world scenario. Evoke is designed for us to learn…

Learn10 What urgent challenge should EVOKE tackle next?

Evoke 2: Eradication of HIV / Aids in Africa

As someone who is originating from Africa, I will suggest that the evoke network tackle the issue of HIV and Aids in Africa. It is well known that Africa is a rich continent, that is blessed with all kinds of resources but is cursed with the prevailing scourge of HIV/AIDS.HIV/AIDS has brought with it negative consequences which has brought the economies of African states to their knees. It is therefore pivotal that the Evoke network tackle this issue in depth and find solutions to help the… Continue

Evoke of the future

The first thing that needs to be done is change focus from the virtual world to the real world. People should be spending more time going out there solving problems instead of typing blog posts.

More effort must be taken in advertising across the globe. Agents should be paid to go from school to school to give presentations. More focus is needed on recruiting school children, and bringing them out of their comfort zone).…

Here are some ideas from my side for the coming season

WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?

Adaptation to climate change, demographic development, biodiversity

WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?

It should involve journalists (particular in developed countries) to raise their awareness and their responsibility towards the evoke missions.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
