Special day in 2020

In 2020, I'll be celebrating my birthday in a pole barn out on my dad's property. There will be a stage with a band, smokers are far as you can see cooking pigs, a zip line over a pond, and people dancing, singing and having a great time. This pole barn is also where my cross fit gym is which gets used Monday thought Friday through out the wh*** year. The tread mills, and any other physical equipment will be hooked up to a power saver generated from human movements. Through out the year, this…

Mission Three - Imagine

It is Oct. 6, 2020 and my daughter's 30th birthday! I am very excited, because she will be flying home from Africa to spend her birthday with us.

After work I will run home to do a hurried last-minute cleaning of our house (which runs on a combination of macrobiofuel for the HVAC and solar power for the lights, ect.). Then, I will rush to the bakery in my car (which runs on the fulvic acid from humate) to pick up the cake. By the time I get home and prepare the meal, she will just be…

IMAGINE3

In the year of 2020 I will take a stand for environment protection. In this case, I will celebrate a special day for supporting the sustainable energy. This day should show the german population how easy you could produce energy by yourself. I will try to catch lots of people to a huge public place, where they should produce energy by riding a bicycle. Today we already have bike-constructions for producing energy by riding it. Have a look at this video…

Energy- A hundred years from now

Can you imagine what the world would be like without cars, scooters or MRTs because of the depletion of energy? The system of human society would be completely ruined. It would be a total chaos. To prevent all this disaster from happening, scientists started brainstorming about the possibilities to solve the energy crisis. And a hundred years later, the situation of energy crisis is solved. After years of thinking, scientists finally came up with an idea of using the techniques of Nano… Continue

Future Without Energy (charlotte)

Future Without Energy

Probably everyone thinks it’s horrible to face the future without energy. But I think it will also bring us some bright sides, too. The following are my thoughts about the changing of the world and the new life style of the future.

Traffic systems will change the most if oil is no longer available. People will have a hard time while scientist haven’t figure… Continue

Online Solutions Architecture

Bill McKibben and 350.org have called for an international work day to stop climate change on October 10, 2010. I have proposed to him that there should 350.org should provide an online solutions architecture in order to promote and support those practical demonstrations of climate solutions on October 10 and to make sure they continue after that day.

350.org has already…

Imagine

In 2020 I look forward to living in Southern California. My home will be energy neutral, meaning that it will create as much energy as it uses. Furthermore, my consumption of goods will hardly leave a footprint as most items will be recycled and repurposed into new items. Food will be partially provided by my own garden and I will enjoy the bounty of agriculture provided by California.

Bike power!

One of the changes I am researching for my own life is setting up a bike-powered energy station in my home to charge low-energy items like cell phones, small rechargeable batteries and so on.

But there's also the potential for using the mechanical energy directly for larger items. For example, you could use a bike to power a blender or food processor by hooking the gears of the bike wheels to the gears in the blades. You could also use that rotary power to pump water, spin out salad… Continue

Harvest Festival

It's harvest time at the community garden and everyone is pitching in. Tonight there will be a big block party and in keeping with the sustainable ethos of the community garden, it will be as sustainably powered as we can make it.

All day long the cooks have been cooking up a storm to lay out a spread for everyone who's celebrating. Luckily, there's still plenty of sunlight this time of year so the solar ovens have been in constant use since the fog broke this morning. Bread,… Continue

Amazing Party!!! 2020 Journal Entry

One of many birthdays!

One of best times I have had!!! I just got back from a birthday party that took place in twenty different countries! One of the ways we have connecting since launching Cloud+Classroom, is by having network birthday parties online. The best part is connecting with new people, when their birthdays come up. Today, I just had the best time connecting with new people who share my birthday month, and its amazing that the idea to have these just…

Giant Kites as Free-Flying Wind Turbines - LEARN3

Saul Griffith dreams of giant kite turbines creating huge amounts of

clean, renewable energy.

Wind is the second largest renewable resource after solar. But the majority of wind power is in high altitudes, well above 300 feet - beyond the reach of today's wind turbines. We don't have a technology (yet) capable of tapping into this rich source of wind energy.

This idea was described by Miles L. Loyd in his paper "Crosswind Kite Power". He… Continue

In 2020 on Childrens day in Japan, I will be travelling to my grandmothers house, in hybrid powered bus. The have been radical changes in Japan by now. Most things are being powered by renewable energy. At my grandmothers house we used a solar cooker to cook our food, and also since we live on a farm the houses are being powered by spining windmills. This is my story of how i see my future life Japan

Recycle Energy: Computer coolers

Most PC´s have coolers as a part of their cooling system. A cooler, is a small fan that extracts air from inside the PC and sends it out in order to avoid overheating.

They usually have enough force as to move a small windmill. My idea is to develop a device, that can be easily installed in the back of any PC, which would reconvert the eolian energy into electrical energy through a little dynamo.

Then, you can use the dynamo to charge batteries, a cellphone or a… Continue

Energy as Money: The Energy Standard

When you think about it, money is already a representation of energy. You get paid for spending your energy at work, and you pay for the energy it takes to create a product and bring it to you. Therefore it just makes sense to use available energy as a sort of gold standard…

Future of energy: the nuclear fusion ?

Maybe an alternative to fission using tokamaks:

http://www.technologyreview.com/business/23102/?a=f

Much more cheaper, and still unexplored, this technology does not produce nuclear waste (because it is fusion).

Austin, TX - Resiliency in 2020

my resiliency improvements for Austin, Texas, USA is in 5 parts. most of my plans are based around redundancy and charity. there is also a major focus on the local community; localized centers give people a direct connection to sources that often seem out of touch. all of these will be networked to each other in a fully connected graph.

1) medical care

while there are several hospitals around, they would be insufficient to deal…

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
