The Future of Long Island

My words of wisdom to future long island is primarily directed at the politics. I would advise them to remember that they are servants of the people. The trends of corruption and patronage need to end. All the patronage jobs, buying of votes, and political bullying needs to come to an end. If these trends continue, long island is sure to see the continued demise of its infrastructure and plummet further and further into debt. Take a good look at who is working for you, Long Island. Demand…

A warning to the future of our people and growing ecosystem:

Greetings,

I come upon you with an urgent but last message. During my lifetime I have personally witnessed and continue to recognize the dangers of fossil fuels in our environment. These such pollutants come from vehicles beyond the legal rate of emissions, cigarettes, the burning of plastic and other resources, etc. Let it be understood that these actions will continue to lead to a daunting future that may contain severe health risks prove to make life difficult for inhabitants of…

Imagine8

They call me "The Ancient." There is the name you are born with and the name you choose. I pass down the knowledge to two different people. The first group is those who I come in contact with. I tell them how to problem solve. I tell them how to think outside of the box. The second group of people I talk to are what is left of the Christian community. We have shrunk due to the fact of us choosing to be like the culture. I tell them the things that I said to my peers but they didn't heed. We can… Continue

IMAGINE8: The evolution of Texas land and cities

Introduction

It is the year 2094. I was born... I can't believe it, a century ago. The world has changed so much through my lifetime. I can now begin to imagine what my grandparents felt like—born before the first world war and living into the first decades of the 21st century. What a profound experience it is to see the world change before your eyes. New… Continue

Looking back on my first century

You don't need me to tell you that 'indigenous' doesn't mean anything any more. We're all global citizens these days and national governments don't really matter. We're all free to live anywhere and it's not cool to cling to an ancient identity just because of who your parents were or where they came from. But I'm glad to see that many people today are adopting cultures through the World Heritage Cultural Diversity Project. It still amazes me that today people will sign ten year contracts with… Continue

Find Yourself

The one hundred years of my life are not here with me today, but in my mind, they live on. I remember watching the world seem to set on fire in Texas as the Mars mission took off. Sitting on the shaking silver bleachers, wondering why I was not up there in the rocket. I remember the way Earth was, although not as well as I would like to. I remember the chirping of birds and waking up on a spring morning, the voices of my parents, calling me in for dinner and hearing their words through letters… Continue

What I will have to pass on.

What I will have to pass on.

I've thought a lot about this recently, because I have had the time to pause and reflect about my life thus far. What kind of legacy do I want to leave? What do I want to pass on, knowledge to the younger generation?

As far as I…

what to tell in 2081 - car free days - those were the 1970s in Germany - imagine8

If I would have the chance to pass on my elder wisdom I would tell the future generations about the car free days in Germany in the 1970s - remembering the oil crisis and the scarcity of resources.

The scarcity of resources, in particular that of energy, won't be a topic in 2081 as green mobility and renewable energies became mainstream in the 2050s. However, due to this, worldwide enduring mobility will be a daily fact and days without using transportation will not exist…

Will There Be Indigenous Knowledge in the Future?

By that, I'm not asking whether the indigenous knowledge of today will be preserved decades into the future. Though that's an interesting question in its own right.

But even given a radical reversal in the trend of communication and transportation costs, I don't see new groups becoming culturally isolated in the near future. Nor do I see the groups that are currently somewhat isolated remaining so.… Continue

IMAGINE8 The Lice from Fish Farming Epidemic Conquered

2075 Vision for Resilient Cultures

Over the last few decades we have seen the necessity of symbiotic relationships with all types of life: silicon and carbon based cultures have mingled and our consciousness is no longer h*** erectus -- we are now fully h*** evolutis. We have taken biology and evolution into our own hands to craft the types of creatures we wish to be, whether crossed with intelligent devices or custom-tailored genetic cultivation. We are the new hybrids and it is up to each one of us to make the most of our… Continue

For me, a 100 years old is not all that far away. 35 years. 2045. Our city's resilience efforts have paid off. My small part of it was with the community farms group. We developed a plan for planting cycles to accomplish two things: 1. There would be fresh produce year round and 2. our greatest harvest would be when there was, usually, a shortage on the open market.

This plan allowed the city to become less and less dependent on outside sources of food and to be able to…

IMAGINE8 Message From An Elder Genner

Good. The planet survived and you have found my message from forty years ago. I want you to know we, the like-minded people who realized we could not go on living as we were, did our very best to make this a better planet, and it was no small task given everything was beginning to fall apart - the environment, the poor and homeless numbers rising, war still raging in far too many places and people starving for lack of food or water. So I would like to leave you with a song which says we love… Continue

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
