Points on mission objectives

Hello fellow agents,

You might be curious about what the points scores are, which are listed on the mission objectives. "This mission is worth + ... [power]". I was, so I asked around a bit.

I'd assumed that they were points scores which would be awarded by the game's admins when we'd submitted our evidence, as long as it was a reasonable attempt.

No - apparently no judging of evidence is taking place at this time. Don't count on getting those points!

Donate Airline Miles (before they expire) - ACT5

I donated airline miles (Aeroplan) to Médecins Sans Frontières. They provide universal medical relief for people in world crises.

It's easy and fast. Don't let those unused miles and points expire!

Take action:

  • Visit the websites of your loyalty/reward programs. Look for ways to donate (use) miles or points.
  • Visit the websites of your favorite charities. Check if they accept miles or points as a…

Gendericide - what national focal points can do in the war against baby girls - LEARN6

I was searching through the womenwatch blog and found a report on a gender focal points reunion where representatives from 16 countries in Asia were meeting to plan work for MDG3 torch. The meeting was hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). After doing some research I found out that also other organisations such as the APEC are having a Gender Focal Point Network in order to integrate gender considerations into APEC activities.

Good to know that at… Continue

How to encourage rather than compensate

I've given the idea of "Votes" and "Points" on Evoke some more thought, just because I like the concept of games and using recognition as a reward. I would like to propose a solution to what everyone has been talking about with regards to finding "hidden treasures" and new users. I think there should be a leaderboard based on how many comments and votes people make. If such a leaderboard existed, the people with the most comments and votes given would be the people exposed to the most… Continue

What is this game for?

I am not pointing any fingers here. It's only day two here for me and I'm still finding my way around and learning a great deal. However, I've already noticed that a few folks seem to be treating this wh*** thing like one big popularity contest. Doesn't that completely miss the point?

I thought EVOKE was about learning how to better the world and helping and encouraging others in a community to do the same, not stroking your own ego. The points system will become utterly meaningless… Continue

Evoke Anarchy!

Ok, so I've been inspired by this thread to figure out ways to use Evoke outside of the ways they want us to use it. My first idea was this:

When you've reached the leaderboard, here on Evoke, if you feel like you've "been in the spotlight" long enough, and have a good enough network of friends that you can be heard without being on the leaderboard, stop using that login. Signup with a new login, maybe… Continue

Our Game: EVOKE points and politics

I believe it is critical for the points to have maximum meaning. This means, to me, that the problem is to solve for the points being distributed properly.

For points to be distributed properly, the meaning/concept of the points must be appropriate according to their use. Points are used for at least these three significant purposes

a) motivation - carrots for newbs such as myself (and it is highly appreciated),

b) confidence - I believe one MO of the game is to… Continue

Take the journey you want to take and chose the rewards you want to earn.

I think Evoke is pretty amazing.

There has been a lot of chatter the last few days about points, scoring, winning, etc. and I share the same sentiment of people like…

So you want a bunch of points on Evoke?

I was asked by a couple people how to get ahead on here. I'm not sure

if its worth it, the points are just for fun from what I've read, the

real prize is all about our Evokations. But if getting points is

important to you, here's what I've been doing:

Add as many people from all different places as friends as you can.

Never add a friend… Continue

EVOKE Politics : Points, Business, and General understanding

First off, I apologize if this doesn't make as much sense as it should- I'm a bit sick, on some whoozy medications and its 4:30 in the morning.

Now, that I'm past the preface, I want to briefly discuss points, leaderboard and this game in a pretty simple matter.

#1) The game ends with an EVOKATION. That takes work, effort and time. Point hoggers, hundreds of picture rankers, people doing other scamming I'll rank yours if you rank mine stuff cannot win the game even if they are… Continue
