A future crisis could be the next meltdown of an atomic power plant as seen in F**ushima. More and more earthquakes come across the world, included Europe as seen in Italy this month. In this case, Europe's atomic power plants aren't safe any longer. One meltdown has disastrous consequences for the wh*** world.
Some facts:
In general a nuclear meltdown would occurr if the reactor loses its coolant.
The effects of a nuclear meltdown depend on the safety features designed…

Today it will be the last day before all nuclear power plant in Germany will shut down. Since one year our house is powered with Solar energy. There has been a great invention in 2014, it is more than easy. There is a small bracket which fits to every window and is almost invisible. In former times you had to use huge solar plates and put them onto your roof this has been expensive and complicated. Some people call this w-lan power as you do not need any cables or similar. I do not know how…

One of the changes I am researching for my own life is setting up a bike-powered energy station in my home to charge low-energy items like cell phones, small rechargeable batteries and so on.
But there's also the potential for using the mechanical energy directly for larger items. For example, you could use a bike to power a blender or food processor by hooking the gears of the bike wheels to the gears in the blades. You could also use that rotary power to pump water, spin out salad…

It's harvest time at the community garden and everyone is pitching in. Tonight there will be a big block party and in keeping with the sustainable ethos of the community garden, it will be as sustainably powered as we can make it.
All day long the cooks have been cooking up a storm to lay out a spread for everyone who's celebrating. Luckily, there's still plenty of sunlight this time of year so the solar ovens have been in constant use since the fog broke this morning. Bread,…

"Imagine yourself at the hospital bed of a loved one. The doctors and nurses have just rushed in to resuscitate them. Their life hangs in the balance, not because of a device malfunction or health complication, but a power outage."
This is the problem being solved by the Dell Social Innovation Finalists Waste To Watts. Their idea is to build generators that provide a stable source of power to third world hospitals during blackouts and surges. And the best part is many of the parts in…

It is 2011 all evoke agents (class of 2010) are coming together to their yearly gathering. They have infiltrated great other social networks of the world (couchsurfing, bookcrossing, carsharing, facebook etc.) and mobilized thousands of people for the idea of urgent evoke. Now it is the time to create the ultimate network to unify the power of the people through reality actions like summer camps, gatherings, flash mobs, free hug days, demos, carrot mobs, barcamps and live…

A couple years back, when watching CNN, I discovered the work of Glen Kertz. He produces algae bio-fuel. At first, it sounded like another one bio-fuel experiment, hard to bring to the big picture. But then, I was amazed at the possibilities. It's a process that defines renewability. The man runs water through a zigzag system of bags, and grows algae in it, then harvesting it, and producing algae oil.
Personally, I was fascinated.
While his idea…

You know this might sound really absurd but what if we to use animals to power farms, because they are really in the middle of nowhere. It could be powered by horses and hamsters, and cows etc. The problem is making a machine that would harness the power.
Any thoughts?

Changing Power.
I was just thinking about the sOccket soccer ball
http://www.soccket.com/ and one of the problems I have with it and potentially any other energy entrepreneurial things out there.
The issue I have is with the lack of entrepreneurship. I would, personally, here and now, love to have a sOccket. I would pay to have a sOccket, I would give sOcckets to the soccer club at my school right here and now, and I can think of thousands…

Gujarat in India had started the large project for alternative

It will be $10 billion project, and it's going to be the world's largest solar power in India. the area for the power plant will be about 10,000 hectares of land with 3 locations in the area of 150 square kilometers. You can lead and take action which will lead to elevation and solution.
It is my job to mention this. In the world of the warrior (as a trained martial artist of 25 years), we are taught to focus our attention in one direction, staying fluid and open, so that we do not get stuck. If the warrior gets stuck, she will die. In the same way, if you get stuck considering what is not, you will not be able to achieve with what is.
If we forget to look to ourselves as the power to…

The Ushahidi project is a platform which allows users to report important information by utilizing their smartphones. They can use video, pictures or text message to report the problems that are occuring in realtime. Ushahidi uses a filter so that they can plow through all the messages and find out what is really going on instead of having to go through the massive amounts of data that is transmitted on Ushahidi.

I got rid of my car in October 2009. Ever since then I have been living carfree and biking. My roommate has a car, but I use it only rarely. Whenever I can, I bike to meetings, to conferences, to the store, to the farmer's market. Today we went on a bikeride for fun.
It makes me happy that I don't have to pay for gas or car insurance anymore, though of course I give…
