In season 2 - I would suggest to promote some real actions that occured from season 1 (Learn); encourage engagement to these activities with season 2 participants (through Act), and continue (Imagine) to get additional entrepeneul efforts initiated.

The key is to actually create action from this game, with global partners.

Nothing really was "surprising" to me....however one statement seemed important - there is a certain motivation with a moderate dose of fear. This is a common strategy used today in some businesses to motivate workers (e.g. fear of layoffs - when its the bottom 10%) To much can immobilize, but a slight amount can be one motivating tool. Not the best one in my opinion - but it can be one.

Statement from one of the case studies: Fear is a solution, not the problem. It simply…

The case study I looked at was from the United States - A Guidebook on Decision-Making In this study, the key item I took out was again to put the owness and decision making responsibility on the lowest possible sector (community based etc.) The ones who own it, and live with it.

It seems in a lot of countries / areas - rules and mandates are given which can make processes unmanageable at a local…

Southern Minnesota is has a majority of it's resources being medical, and technology expertise. A medical emergency could require a near immediate deployment of people, supplies and equipment to anywhere in the world. Using the Ushahidi, you could get real time feedback to using something as simple as text messages to adjust resource deployments up/down as needed, or specific dispersment direction. It could become your "base station" command communication point.

Wouldnt it be something if we used a basic budgeting principle - everywhere: like spend 80% of your income, save 10% and give to your charity or church 10% (tithing).....what a world we would have if everyone spent within their means - and gave 10% for the people needing help.......this includes individuals and governments.....what a world it would be.

Act 5

I'm just trying a social media "virtual world" called Secondlife.com. Interesting enough - it uses something called linden dollars (a currency that can be translated into any currency denomination). By going to one of the sites I visited this week - the shop owner gave me 5 linden dollars...just for visiting. Now this small token - will generate me spending it somewhere...and I assume this "spark" of spending will start our own mini-economic stimulas within the virtual community. Currently I…

Not hugely creative - but more innovative around the delivery. The key is getting even the simpliest of solutions into the hands of people who can use them. This is where a network such as this can help. Where ideas are shared…

Ok - kind of gross - but a fact of life. Human waste creates methane. Harnessing this waste can create electricity / gas for cooking or other (see enclosed article). What else could this do?

Act 2

In an effort - no-one left behind....I bought some corn seeds this weekend so that me and the grandson can plant them....teach just 1, and let them tell 2 friends, and so on, and so on....(ok sounds like a bad hair commercial from the 70's) - maybe this is dating myself to badly :)

Imagine 2

What I imagine in 2020 will be a meal with more locally grown / raised items. I see a continued seperation between have's and have not's. The common man will start rejecting corporate held commodities and they will be only for the wealthy. The common man will be eating and supporting local communities as was back in the origins of settlements.

Per the above link - in generically in the US. most any of our crisis are more based on the distrution systems internally and externally to our nation. (e.g. the staples restrictions of 2008 (rice etc) causing many high powered food distributers to limit purchase quantities) However, to get back to fundamentals is the base of this innovative solution.

Ending poverty by rebuilding…

Choose a hero to shadow.....Tim Brown, who also has a blog site that tackles much of the worlds problems via blog posts. He is an innovator who I have met, and has caused me to do some of my own reflection based on his comments around design thinking in project spaces. His Business IDEO is focused on design thinking for change.

Imagine 1

2020 - just 10 years away, and a food crisis - I imagine myself still inventing and contemplating solutions, however connecting with other inventors and innovators in a much larger organization which is funded, and has the power/reach to pull global resources where required. This would be done out of the comfort of our own home environment, connecting online, using standard tecnhology. (e.g. watching the news, yet connecting through the cable system to the people at the news location to offer… Continue

Understanding the daily routines of people and processes, and understanding desires and willingness to what people want to change, needs to be one of the 1st steps for creating a change mechanism. Once you understand the desires, you can innovate within their comfort zone for a more accellerated adoptation of ideas to reach a goal.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
