ScienceFiction? Free Natural Household Lighting, EXPERTS WANTED!!

I hate long blog posts so I will get straight to the point in hopes you read and comment on it.

My idea is this: a Verticle Cylindrical Light Prism. (for people unfamiliar with prisms, they recieve light at one end and effectively disperse and radiate it throughout the entire prism, is that accurate?)

It would run from the outside top of a house to the basement of your house exposed 360* and would probably have a 2-3 ft diameter. I was thinking…

Food Forward 2020

This blog post is continued from my ACT2 evidence and acts as my IMAGINE2 evidence, please read the first one before continuing...

The Food Forward Community Farm is gone! In it's place are a few new commercial buildings and an area of grass with a bench facing a large monument. The large metallic piece of art depicts four people pushing with all their efforts to raise a large hoe vertically to the sky.

"Here before you lies testament that one voice can change a…

FeedForward

Through the blessing of the City of Steamboat Springs I will get several acres of unused land to create a Community Farm. The farm will be run on a volunteer only basis. School cla**** will have field trips to help and learn about food security. Throughout the season volunteers will have access to any fresh produce and herbs. At the end of the season will be a harvest and a community meal cooked from what was taken from the farm. The entire community will be invited to taste and to…

Don't fight culture in South Central while spending your $2/day in the hood

I thought that the secret of "Don't Fight Culture" From Ethan Zuckerman’s post ‘Innovating from constraint‘, was a very important point that too many people will overlook in their social innovations. Humans are habit forming and proud of their heritage.

By introducing something to a people that doesn't embrace who they are… Continue

The CALL will be VERBAL

"Erik!" yelled Alchemy from across a dark room, but I couldn't be bothered.

Nothing but the computer screen to light my face. I was deep within my own world as I put the finishing touches on the final press release of what had been a long and tedius campaign. The "DiHydrogen Oxide! Die Hydrogen Fusion!" campaign had succeeded late that night in the signing of a peace treaty concerning water rights between two nuclear powers. First thing in the morning my words would…

Mission: Tangent; Business Model Adaptation

I've decided to search within my own experiences and knowledge to find a social entrepreneur to be my "hero". This strategy, as opposed to reaching out for new knowledge or influences, highlights an important concept in the social innovator's world - Applying creative and new ideas to old and existing entities. I am using the limited resources that I posses to innovate a creative solution to the problem (in this case the evoke mission).

That being said, my 'Hero' is…

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
